fix(plugins,edge): managed mode runs end to end in workerd, and enableWebhook takes pushed bundles at POST /__skilled_openapi/push - #1094
@frontmcp/edge managed mode (createEdgeMcp({ managed })) had no working end-to-end test, and its enableWebhook option did nothing.
The managed e2e was skipped, and its fixture could not have passed. The test was describe.skip, blocked by Node-only modules in a hand-rolled esbuild bundle. Its fixture also used http:// endpoint and JWKS URLs, which the saas source refuses, and an opaque pull token with an empty JWKS, which the source refuses before every pull. The e2e now runs a Worker configured as in production:
The fixture is bundled the way a user deploys it, with wrangler deploy --dry-run, and run in workerd through Miniflare. Wrangler's nodejs_compat handling is what the old esbuild bundle lacked, so no module stubs are needed.
Its configuration reads secrets from cloudflare:workersenv, as the README shows: the pull token, the trusted signing key and the API credential.
Every outbound fetch goes to Miniflare's outboundService, so the test answers https://bundles.example/..., https://billing.example/... and DNS over HTTPS. The saas source's https rule is unchanged: nothing in production code gained an http exception.
At start, the test makes an ES256 issuer key and its JWKS, a real pull token, and an RSA key that signs each bundle. No private key is committed.
It covers the first-request pull (search_skill, load_skill, KV), a run_workflow call that reaches the mocked https API with the configured bearer credential, a Cron scheduled() run that swaps to a new version (a removed skill disappears, KV keeps the new version), and a Cron run after the issuer stops trusting the pull token: the run fails, the bundle URL is never called, and the served bundle and KV stay as they were.
The test also showed how a Worker resolves an API host: the outbound check imports node:dns, and workerd answers it with DNS over HTTPS to cloudflare-dns.com. The docs now say so.
enableWebhook is implemented. It was accepted and documented ("accept pushed updates at POST /__skilled_openapi/push"), and nothing served that path. The building blocks were complete, so I implemented it instead of removing it:
the pull token's checks, in the saas source;
WebhookReplayGuard;
the bundle checks and atomic apply in BundleSyncService.apply;
plugin-registered flows, which both the Express host and the web-fetch handler dispatch.
How it works:
A flow, not a raw handler. With enableWebhook: true on a saas source, the plugin registers the skilled-openapi:bundle-push flow (POST /__skilled_openapi/push). Its stages are checkIpFilter, acquireQuota, verifyPushToken, parseBundle and applyBundle, all hookable. The Express host mounts it as it mounts the auth flows, and the Worker's web-fetch handler reaches it through findHttpFlowName, like the OAuth and well-known flows. Nothing in the edge adapter handles the path.
The token. The saas source checks a push token with the same code as the pull token: a key at jwksUrl (fetched without credentials, redirects refused), iss, aud, resource, exp. That check moved into one private method that pull and push share. A push token must also carry a jti of at least 8 characters and an iat within five minutes. These go through WebhookReplayGuard. They are claims of the signed token, so they can't be changed on the wire. The pull token, issued long before, can't push.
The bundle. The body is the bundle as JSON, parsed with parseOverlay (schema and cross-references), then applied by BundleSyncService (signature against trustedKeys, then the atomic swap with rollback).
One apply at a time. Pulled and pushed bundles now share one apply queue in BundleSyncService. A push waits for the first pull, so a push and a Cron run never apply at once. An applied push is kept in the bundle cache (KV on a Worker) as the last good bundle. A refused one is not kept.
Answers:
200 { applied: true, bundleId, bundleVersion };
401 invalid_token, with WWW-Authenticate: Bearer error="invalid_token", for a missing or refused token;
409 push_replayed for a used jti;
400 invalid_bundle when the body is not a bundle;
422 bundle_not_applied when its signature or checks fail;
503 temporarily_unavailable when the JWKS can't be read.
The 401 body doesn't say why the token was refused; the log does.
WebhookReplayGuard.check() now returns a code with each rejection (invalid_timestamp, invalid_nonce, outside_window, nonce_replay). The source uses it to tell a replay from a bad token, and the telemetry label reads it, in place of matching the message.
Also:
The docs said [triggers] crontabs. Wrangler reads crons. Fixed in @frontmcp/edge's doc comments and in the catalog page.
The edge test target now builds plugin-skilled-openapi first. The new edge test loads the plugin's build.
What I left as is:
The replay guard keeps the jtis it has seen in memory. Replicas, and the isolates of one Worker, don't share them, so a replay that reaches another isolate within the five-minute window is applied again. The bundle still has to be signed by a trusted key. The README and the catalog say to keep push tokens short-lived. A shared guard would need a Durable Object or a store with atomic writes. KV is eventually consistent, so it can't do this.
BundlePushJwtVerifier (adapters) is unchanged. It is for a host that serves its own push endpoint, with its own rules (resource required, a frontmcp:cloud:push role). The built-in endpoint uses the pull token's rules, as asked.
No test here drives a push through the Express host. On Node, the push is tested through the web-fetch handler. The Express host mounts the flow with the same registerMiddleware call it uses for the auth flows.
Stacked on #1093 (CLI runtime), which is on #1092.
User-facing change
What changed:
managed.enableWebhook (edge) and enableWebhook on the plugin's saas source now serve POST /__skilled_openapi/push, through the hookable skilled-openapi:bundle-push flow.
New exports from @frontmcp/adapters/skills: SaasPushRefusedError, the BundlePushReceiver type, and the ReplayRejectCode type. SaasPullSource gains push, verifyPushToken() and keepBundle(). WebhookReplayGuard.check() results carry code.
The docs name the wrangler key [triggers] crons, not crontabs.
Before → after:
enableWebhook: true: accepted, and POST /__skilled_openapi/push answered 404 → the push is verified and applied, answering 200, 400, 401, 409, 422 or 503 as above.
enableWebhook unset or false: no push endpoint → unchanged.
Pull, poll and Cron refresh → unchanged. They now apply through the same queue as pushes.
WebhookReplayGuard.check(): { ok, reason } → { ok, reason, code }. Telemetry labels are the same.
frontmcp-deployment/references/deploy-to-cloudflare-skills-only.md: a "Pushed Bundles" section (request, answers, per-isolate replay guard), DNS on a Worker, the managed e2e now running, crons in place of crontabs, and push in the description (also in skills-manifest.json).
Also libs/edge/README.md (a "Pushed bundles" section, the enableWebhook row) and plugins/plugin-skilled-openapi/README.md (the saas row and a "Pushed bundles" section).
Tests
Added:
e2e demo-e2e-cloudflaremanaged-edge-autoupdate.e2e.spec.ts, no longer skipped (8 tests, real workerd):
the first request pulls the signed bundle: search_skill and load_skill serve its skills with its version, and KV keeps it;
run_workflow calls createInvoice, which reaches the mocked https billing API with the configured bearer credential; the result doesn't show it;
a Cron scheduled() run picks up a new version: a skill is added, one removed, and KV keeps the new version;
after the issuer rotates its JWKS, a Cron run fails (exception), the bundle URL is not called, and the skills and KV stay;
a push with a fresh token and a signed bundle is applied and kept in KV;
a push that replays an earlier push's token is refused with 409;
a push without a token, or with one another key signed, is refused with 401 and a Bearer challenge;
a bundle changed after signing is refused with 422 (digest mismatch), and a body that is not a bundle with 400.
Helpers in e2e/helpers/: managed-bundles.ts (issuer, signer, bundles), managed-internet.ts (the mocked https hosts and DNS over HTTPS), managed-worker.ts (wrangler bundle, Miniflare, MCP calls, Cron, push, KV).
adapterssaas-pull.source.push.spec.ts (13 tests): a valid push token is accepted; push exists only with enableWebhook; with it off every push is refused; a replayed jti is replayed; another audience, resource or issuer, no jti, an old iat, a short jti, or an unknown key is invalid-token; an unreadable JWKS throws a plain error; keepBundle writes the cache.
adapterswebhook-replay-guard.spec.ts: each rejection carries its code. saas-token.fixture.ts takes an iat.
plugin-skilled-openapibundle-push.integration.spec.ts (9 tests, a real server through the web-fetch handler): an applied push after the pulled bundle, kept in the cache; 409 on replay; 401 with no token, a foreign key, or no jti; 503 when the JWKS is down; 400 for a non-JSON body and for a bundle missing fields; 422 for an unsigned bundle, the served bundle unchanged; no push endpoint without enableWebhook.
plugin-skilled-openapibundle-push.flow.spec.ts (1 test): the flow passes the request on when the source takes no pushes.
plugin-skilled-openapibundle-sync.service.spec.ts (4 tests): the push receiver is the source's; a pushed bundle applies after the pulled one; a push that fails its apply is reported and the served bundle stays; an apply that throws is reported.
edgeindex.spec.ts (2 tests): a managed edge answers a push without a token with 401 when enableWebhook is on, and 404 when it is off.
Run (after npx nx run-many -t build -p sdk,adapters,plugin-skilled-openapi,edge,testing):
npx nx test demo-e2e-cloudflare: 3 suites, 24 tests pass (the managed spec's 8 included, about 4 s).
npx nx run-many -t typecheck -p adapters,plugin-skilled-openapi,edge and npx tsc --noEmit -p <lib>/tsconfig.lib.json for the three: pass.
demo-e2e-cloudflare has no typecheck target (no @cloudflare/workers-types). tsc on its tsconfig.e2e.json reports only the three getWorker() typing gaps that target was turned off for.
Prettier and eslint on the changed files: clean. node scripts/fix-unused-imports.mjs: nothing to remove.
The bundle-size e2e: not run, since nothing in libs/sdk changed.
…led_openapi/push, as documented
The saas source's enableWebhook (and @frontmcp/edge's managed.enableWebhook) was accepted and documented as
mounting POST /__skilled_openapi/push, but nothing served the path. With it on, the plugin now registers the
hookable skilled-openapi:bundle-push flow, which the Express host mounts and the web-fetch handler dispatches like
the auth flows: IP filter, rate limit, then the push token, the bundle, and the apply.
The push token is checked by the code that checks the pull token (JWKS, iss, aud, resource, exp), and must carry
a jti no push used and an iat within five minutes, through WebhookReplayGuard. The body is parsed with
parseOverlay and applied by BundleSyncService (signature, then the atomic swap). Pulled and pushed bundles share
one apply queue, a push waits for the first pull, and an applied push is kept as the last good bundle. Answers:
200, 400 invalid_bundle, 401 invalid_token, 409 push_replayed, 422 bundle_not_applied, 503 when the JWKS is down.
WebhookReplayGuard results carry a code. The docs named the wrangler key crontabs; it is crons.
…h, a refused pull token, run_workflow and pushes
The managed e2e was skipped, and its fixture could not have passed: it used http:// endpoint and JWKS URLs, which
the saas source refuses, and an opaque pull token with an empty JWKS. The fixture is now set up as in production,
reading its pull token, signing key and API credential from cloudflare:workers env. It is bundled as a user
deploys it (wrangler deploy --dry-run) and run in workerd through Miniflare, whose outboundService answers the
https bundle server, the billing API and workerd's DNS over HTTPS. The test makes the issuer key, the pull and
push tokens and the bundle signing key at start; no key is committed.
No actionable comments were generated in the recent review.
Walkthrough
This change adds authenticated bundle pushes for SaaS sources, routes pushed bundles through serialized application, and adds managed Cloudflare tests for pulling, scheduled refresh, and pushing signed bundles.

Summary
Push receiver and token verification libs/adapters/src/skills/sources/..., libs/adapters/src/skills/security/..., libs/adapters/src/skills/__tests__/*
SaaS sources can expose a push receiver when enableWebhook is enabled. Push tokens use shared issuer, audience, resource, and signature checks. Verification requires iat and jti claims and applies replay protection. Replay checks return explicit rejection codes.
Push endpoint and serialized application plugins/plugin-skilled-openapi/src/push/*, plugins/plugin-skilled-openapi/src/sync/bundle-sync.service.ts, plugins/plugin-skilled-openapi/src/skilled-openapi.plugin.ts, plugins/plugin-skilled-openapi/src/__tests__/*, plugins/plugin-skilled-openapi/README.md
The plugin registers POST /__skilled_openapi/push when the source provides a receiver. The flow validates tokens and bundle bodies, applies accepted bundles, and returns status responses. Pulled and pushed bundles use a shared serialized apply queue.
Adds a Wrangler and Miniflare test harness with mocked JWKS, bundle, billing, and DNS responses. Active end-to-end tests cover initial loading, invoice workflows, Cron refresh, pull-token rejection, and push responses. Edge and deployment documentation describes managed pushes, Cron configuration, and Worker DNS resolution.

Explanation
The title names the two main changes: managed mode running end to end in workerd, and enableWebhook accepting pushed bundles at POST /__skilled_openapi/push. Both match the changeset, which adds the managed e2e suite and helpers and the bundle-push flow and receiver. The title is long (130 characters, 17 words) and uses two clauses, so it is less concise than the guideline prefers. It still describes real, primary changes, so it passes.

…d, and a pushed bundle is kept inside its serialized apply
Every POST to the push endpoint, even with a junk token, read the issuer's JWKS, so unauthenticated
requests could drive unbounded outbound work. Push checks now reuse the signing keys for a minute and
share one read across concurrent pushes; a failed read is not cached, and a pull still reads them fresh.
The push flow kept an applied bundle as the last good one after the apply queue entry had finished,
so a later apply could interleave. Keeping it now runs inside the queued apply, only after a
successful apply; a failure to keep it is logged and leaves the bundle applied.

What and why
@frontmcp/edgemanaged mode (createEdgeMcp({ managed })) had no working end-to-end test, and itsenableWebhookoption did nothing.The managed e2e was skipped, and its fixture could not have passed. The test was
describe.skip, blocked by Node-only modules in a hand-rolled esbuild bundle. Its fixture also usedhttp://endpoint and JWKS URLs, which thesaassource refuses, and an opaque pull token with an empty JWKS, which the source refuses before every pull. The e2e now runs a Worker configured as in production:wrangler deploy --dry-run, and run in workerd through Miniflare. Wrangler'snodejs_compathandling is what the old esbuild bundle lacked, so no module stubs are needed.cloudflare:workersenv, as the README shows: the pull token, the trusted signing key and the API credential.fetchgoes to Miniflare'soutboundService, so the test answershttps://bundles.example/...,https://billing.example/...and DNS over HTTPS. Thesaassource's https rule is unchanged: nothing in production code gained an http exception.It covers the first-request pull (
search_skill,load_skill, KV), arun_workflowcall that reaches the mocked https API with the configured bearer credential, a Cronscheduled()run that swaps to a new version (a removed skill disappears, KV keeps the new version), and a Cron run after the issuer stops trusting the pull token: the run fails, the bundle URL is never called, and the served bundle and KV stay as they were.The test also showed how a Worker resolves an API host: the outbound check imports
node:dns, and workerd answers it with DNS over HTTPS tocloudflare-dns.com. The docs now say so.enableWebhookis implemented. It was accepted and documented ("accept pushed updates atPOST /__skilled_openapi/push"), and nothing served that path. The building blocks were complete, so I implemented it instead of removing it:saassource;WebhookReplayGuard;BundleSyncService.apply;How it works:
