Weather Editor

The Weather Editor lets you control which weather types viewers can buy to change the weather in your colony, and how much those changes cost.
You can turn weather events on or off, set their price in coins, and choose whether triggering them gives positive, neutral, or negative karma.
Tip: Load a save game so the editor can see all weather from the base game and your mods.
- Load a RimWorld save.
- Click the RICS button in the bottom-right.
- Select Weather Editor.
You can also open it from Mod Settings → RICS → Game Events & Cooldowns.
- Lists every mod that adds weather types.
- Click All or a specific mod to filter the list.
- Shows how many weather events each mod contributes.
- Search bar: Type part of a weather name (e.g. "rain" or "fog") to filter instantly.
- Sort buttons: Sort by Name, Cost, or Mod Source. Click again to reverse.
For each weather type you’ll see:
- Name and description — What the weather does.
- Enabled checkbox — Turn it on so viewers can buy it.
- Cost — How many coins it costs to trigger this weather.
- Karma Type — Good (positive karma), Neutral, or Bad (negative karma).
- Reset button — Return the cost to the default value.
- Find it using search or by filtering the mod list on the left.
- Check or uncheck Enabled to let viewers buy it or not.
- Change the Cost number.
- Pick the Karma Type (Good / Neutral / Bad) to decide how it affects karma.
- Use Reset if you want to go back to the automatic default price.
Changes save automatically.
Use the top buttons for quick changes across many weather types:
- Enable or disable everything at once.
- Enable/disable all weather from one specific mod.
- Reset all prices to defaults (with a confirmation).
Bottom of the window has the usual backup buttons:
- Save Backup — Quick timestamped copy of your weather settings.
- Load Backup — Load the latest backup.
- Save As... — Save to a named file.
- Load file — Load a saved file.
- Delete file — Remove a saved file.
- Close — Close the window.
Everything saves as you edit.
- Make powerful or harmful weather (like toxic rain or storms) more expensive.
- Use Karma Type to encourage or discourage certain weather (Good weather gives positive karma, Bad weather gives negative).
- Disable weather that would be too disruptive during important moments in your stream.
- Match costs to how fast your viewers earn coins.
- After adding a new weather mod, check the new entries and set sensible prices.
Viewers use commands like !weather <type> to change the weather (if enabled and they have the coins).
