Corrects vendor facts on six blog posts. Each changed fact was re-checked on the vendor's own page on 2026-10-19; edited posts get updatedAt 2026-10-19 and, where the post has one, an update-history line.

Changes

  • app-hosting-platforms-with-managed-postgres-2026: Railway PR environments were implied to be automatic; they must be turned on in project settings (docs.railway.com/guides/environments).
  • app-hosting-platforms-with-managed-postgres-2026: said fly launch deploys the repo as it is; it writes a fly.toml and, for most languages and frameworks including Node.js, a Dockerfile into the repo (fly.io/docs/launch/create, fly.io/docs/js/the-basics).
  • app-hosting-platforms-with-managed-postgres-2026: Supabase, Neon and Vercel entries always said two bills; a database created from the Vercel Marketplace bills through the Vercel account, so the second bill goes away only when the app also runs on Vercel (vercel.com/docs/marketplace-storage: "Pay for storage resources through your Vercel account"; vercel.com/marketplace/supabase: "Handle your invoices via Vercel instead of Supabase."; vercel.com/marketplace/neon: "Billing is managed through Vercel.").
  • neon-vs-prisma-postgres-app-hosting-in-one-place: Railway Serverless was said to sleep between requests; it sleeps 5 to 10 minutes after the last outbound traffic (docs.railway.com/reference/app-sleeping). Railway PR environments must be turned on (docs.railway.com/guides/environments).
  • prisma-vs-netlify: third paragraph left out that Netlify Database provisions and migrates the site's Postgres database (docs.netlify.com, Netlify Database); the parity table now says Deploy Previews are per pull request and branch deploys run only once set up (docs.netlify.com, branch deploys); Vercel's 30-minute beta maximum also covers Bun (vercel.com/docs/functions/limitations).
  • host-a-test-version-without-replacing-production: blocking private network traffic between Render environments needs a Pro workspace or higher (render.com/pricing).
  • prisma-postgres-vs-neon-pricing-2026: Neon spend controls are notifications at 80% and 100% (alerts only), and per-project consumption quotas set through the API suspend computes (neon.com/docs/introduction/plans, consumption-limits); the 500 GB transfer allowance is per project per month (neon.com/docs/introduction/plans); drops an idle-latency claim about Prisma Postgres that the Prisma docs do not state. Worked example 4 now says the Prisma Postgres total includes the $10 Starter base plus operations above the 1M included (prisma.io/pricing), and the FAQ no longer ties Prisma Postgres to latency-sensitive users.
  • serverless-postgres: Neon's docs now call its database Lakebase Postgres, also run on Databricks (neon.com/docs, neon-and-lakebase); Render Postgres has no compute autoscaling, storage autoscaling is opt-in (render.com/docs/postgresql-creating-connecting).

Not changed: the Vercel pricing comparison. Its Edge-to-CDN Requests rename is correct, but the rows and worked example predate Vercel's Flat Rate CDN tiers (vercel.com/docs/pricing/flat-rate-cdn), so that page needs its own fix.

Each change was checked against the vendor's own docs or pricing page
on 2026-10-19.

- Railway: Serverless sleeps a service 5 to 10 minutes after its last
outbound traffic, not between requests; PR environments must be
  turned on in project settings.
- Netlify: Deploy Previews are per pull request and branch deploys only
run once set up; Netlify Database can provision and migrate the
  site's Postgres database.
- Vercel: the 30-minute beta maximum covers Node.js, Bun and Python
functions; a database created from the Marketplace bills through the
Vercel account; Edge Requests are now called CDN Requests.
- Neon: spending notifications only alert, and per-project consumption
quotas set through the API suspend computes; the 500 GB transfer
allowance is per project; Neon's database is now Lakebase Postgres.
- Render: Postgres has no compute autoscaling (storage autoscaling is
opt-in); blocking traffic between environments needs a Pro workspace.
- Fly.io: fly launch writes a Dockerfile and fly.toml into the repo.
- The Neon pricing comparison drops an idle-latency claim about Prisma
Postgres that the Prisma docs do not state.

A database created from the Vercel Marketplace bills through the Vercel
account, but an app on Netlify, Render or Fly.io still pays its own host
as well. The Supabase trade-offs, the one-vendor paragraph and the
update-history line now say the second bill goes away only when the app
runs on Vercel.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Renaming Edge Requests to CDN Requests is correct, but the same rows and
the worked example predate Vercel's Flat Rate CDN tiers, so the page
needs a fuller fix in its own change. Restore the file as it is on main.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The cost-driver table now says per project, matching the two other
mentions, and all three keep the monthly period from Neon's plans page.

bullet, qualify the claim about `fly launch`: state that it usually generates a
Dockerfile and a `fly.toml` in the repository, rather than implying Dockerfile
generation is unconditional.

- Line 229: Update the Prisma Postgres cost sentence in the workload comparison
to retain the $10 Starter base fee and describe query overage, while clarifying

- Line 342: Update the FAQ wording to remove the unsupported “latency-sensitive

idle periods where operations billing and spend caps matter, preserving the
surrounding comparison.

duration and plan details unchanged.

… in the worked example

fly launch generates a Dockerfile for most languages and frameworks, including
Node.js (fly.io/docs/launch/create). The worked example's total includes the
$10 Starter base, so the sentence after it now says so, and the FAQ no longer
ties Prisma Postgres to latency-sensitive users.
