Summary

  • Add persisted physical definitions, front/rear rack editing, cable ends and breakout channels with paged, authorized projections.
  • Save installation and replacement plans using shared prerequisites, postconditions, material requirements, atomic reservations and recoverable partial manual outcomes. Completion rechecks received equipment and connector compatibility while preserving explicit reports of work already performed.
  • Review component and whole-device replacements with explicit endpoint correspondence and finite correction-safe quality counts. Physical identity, wiring, configuration, permissions and service evidence remain distinct.

Validation

Focused disk-backed physical and requirements tests, generated-contract checks, warning-denied Clippy, rustfmt, Vue builds, unit-conversion checks and desktop/phone Chromium workflows pass locally on macOS. Required CI runs the full workspace, alloc-only checks and native observation checks on macOS and Windows.

Uses the explicit development fixture actor. Production authentication, provider execution and installable releases have separate qualification.

Closes #38

polaz added 23 commits October 31, 2026 09:55
Derive recipient availability and material lists from current authoritative state. Enforce declared mounting requirements during preview and reservation.
Evaluate bounded supply paths through shared plan requirements. Preserve unknown coverage, reject stale resource references, and disclose only permitted counterexamples.

Refs #38
Keep future quantities and sourced specifications inside plans. Record sparse receipt and reuse through the shared reservation and cleanup lifecycle. Canonicalize claims so semantically equal saves create no additional revision.
Reserve declared geometry and load using plan-relative requested units. Resolve received asset identities only for actual work, without creating placeholder inventory. Share placement admission, accounting and completion with existing equipment.
Keep component-event judgments, endpoint correspondence and actual wiring independent. Validate sourced breakout channels and supplier membership in indexed batches, retain bounded correction-safe quality counts, and expose exact-binding postconditions through the shared evaluator.

Closes #38

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #38 is open and directly linked. The changes implement its coding objectives for persistent physical definitions, rack geometry, cable ends, wiring, saved plans, BOM materials, reservations, partial completion, replacement reviews, endpoint mappings, scoped feedback, requirements, authorization, revisions, recovery, and bounded projections. Rust, workspace, Node, and browser tests cover persistence, conflicts, access limits, incomplete evidence, replacement behavior, material receipt, occupancy, pagination, and crash or restore cases. The excluded generated file does not prevent assessment because the source protobuf changes and the reported contract checks provide reviewable evidence. No concrete unmet coding requirement is shown.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes remain within issue #38. Contracts, generated-shape limits, physical geometry and power helpers, store schema and persistence, requirement evaluation, Vue panels, documentation, and tests directly support physical planning, replacement, validation, disclosure, and recovery. Equipment canonicalization, PlanId, and the stable toolchain support shared persistence or validation. The summary shows no new inventory, scheduler, provider-effect engine, automatic history stream, or 3D renderer.

Let the binding picker page through relations.

BindingCheck sends one Read for the selected asset, without relationsCursor, and keeps only the first page of relations. It does not read relationsNext. An operator cannot choose a permitted binding that sorts past the first 25 relations. The picker shows the first page only, and the required binding can be absent from it.

Fetch later pages with the returned relationsNext cursor, then append them to bindings. Add a "Load more" control that is shown only while a cursor is present.

Add a creation-limit test for offers under one enclosure.

availability_offer_is_revisioned_bounded_and_not_a_bearer_grant creates one offer and does not check the per-enclosure offer bound. Removing the bound, or changing its comparison from >= 64 to > 64, does not fail any inspected test.

Add a loop that creates 64 offers under the same enclosure. Then assert that the 65th creation returns Error::Limit. Also assert that a revoked offer still counts toward the limit. The count query in crates/omloom-store/src/disk/workspace/physical/availability.rs does not filter on revoked.

Add a test for the second offer page.

Action::Offers returns at most 25 offers. It returns a next cursor only when a 26th row exists. No Rust test calls this action, so the 25-row boundary and the continuation token have no Rust test coverage. A change that drops the 26th row or clears next would not fail the Rust suite.

The listing filters rows by n.owner=$owner. The test must create the 26 offers as the same actor that lists them. Pass the returned next value as after in the second call.

🧪 Suggested test outline

Add to crates/omloom-store/tests/workspace/physical/availability.rs:

Add a positive test for an ordered socket handoff.

The parallel double-booking test only asserts that two unordered claims to one socket return Error::Conflict. An implementation that rejects every second claim would still pass it. No test in the inspected file reserves a connect of one cable, a disconnect of that cable, and then a connect of a second cable to the same port. A regression that blocks valid handoffs would therefore not fail any test.

Add a test with three steps on the same port:

  1. Connect Cable A to the port with After::Port, using Cable A's end revision as the ExpectedEndRevision basis.
  2. Disconnect Cable A with After::Loose and Basis::AfterStep(0). AfterStep is valid here because step 0 uses the same cable and end.
  3. Connect Cable B to the port with After::Port, using Cable B's end revision as the ExpectedEndRevision basis. Give this step an explicit Reported dependency on step 1, the disconnect. Do not set Basis::AfterStep on this step. Flow analysis rejects AfterStep when the referenced step has a different cable or end.

Save the plan, call reserve, and assert that it succeeds.

Add a test for a competing reservation against a retained Unknown binding.

After the Unknown report, the test checks that the ConnectedTo relation remains on the port. It does not reserve a second cable to that port. For an After::Port step, assess_wiring returns admission::Failure::mismatch() when the port already has a binding and the step does not match it. mismatch() maps to Error::Conflict. No test asserts this rejection, so a change that stops counting the retained relation would not fail the test.

Suggested test coverage (outline):

  1. Keep the existing Unknown assertions.
  2. Create a second cable and its end. Define the end the same way the parallel double-booking test does.
  3. Save a wiring plan for that cable with After::Port set to the same port. Save this plan before taking the usage snapshot.
  4. Take store.usage() immediately before calling reserve on that plan.
  5. Assert that reserve returns Err(Error::Conflict) and that store.usage() is unchanged.

Add a replacement-side lane case to the breakout test.

The test cross_model_mapping_preserves_unmapped_ports_and_requires_declared_breakout_lanes sets only previous_channel on its mappings. No mapping in the test sets replacement_channel to Some. The destination lane check at crates/omloom-store/src/disk/workspace/physical/replacements.rs:322-327 therefore never runs in this test. Removing that check would leave every assertion in the test unchanged, so the test would still pass.

The production check is correct. Add a case for it:

  1. Set replacement_channel: Some(n) on a replacement port that has no declared channel n. Assert Err(Error::Incomplete).
  2. Declare channel n on that replacement port. Assert that replacement_plan(...) succeeds.

Review continued from previous batch...

Keep the binding selector bounded to one authorized page and invalidate it when its context changes. Cover offer pagination and admission limits, ordered socket handoff, retained unknown attachments and destination breakout lanes.
Aggregate retained material reservations before qualifying an offered region. The regression lowers the mass limit beneath a disjoint reservation and requires failed availability without writes.
polaz added 18 commits November 1, 2026 12:08
Resolve sparse material allocations in the bounded key batch. Current accepted loads and clearances supplement retained reserved space instead of continuing to use the hypothetical material load. Include a regression for heavier received equipment.
Remove a deleted draft event contribution in the same transaction as its step. Prove deletion and reintroduction cannot inflate quality counts. Keep optional capacity inspection after the inventory so desktop and phone retrieval retain their tested compact layout.
Expose explicit plan-only allocation for a requested unit without measurements. The desktop and phone regression keeps these dimensions out of equipment facts and verifies receiving and reload.
Refresh the open enclosure and revision after a parent inventory load, preserving unsaved material and placement edits. Gate the refresh by its parent basis so a newer direct read cannot start repeated requests. Cover desktop refresh, phone fact editing and subsequent replacement work.
Apply declared mass, power and cooling budgets to slot-only replacements. Missing demand remains unknown, and mass reads use authorized bounded batches. Regressions cover over-budget, missing and exact-boundary demand on each axis.

Minor follow-up Clear the stale Next continuation when a review decision clears the quality list.

25-30: Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win

Clear the stale Next continuation when a review decision clears the quality list.

A recorded decision sets quality to undefined but leaves qualityNext set. The Next button stays visible and requests the page after the old boundary. Buckets created by the decision that sort before that boundary are skipped until the user reloads the first page. Clear qualityNext in the same branch.

Suggested fix
-  if(decision!==undefined){notice.value='Review decision recorded. Installation and endpoint decisions are unchanged.';quality.value=undefined;}
+  if(decision!==undefined){notice.value='Review decision recorded. Installation and endpoint decisions are unchanged.';quality.value=undefined;qualityNext.value=undefined;}

Update the decision branch in reviewReplacement to clear qualityNext whenever it
clears quality, so the Next control cannot use a stale continuation boundary
after a review decision.
