This is an automated cherry-pick of #70548

What problem does this PR solve?

Issue Number: close #70368, close #70359

Problem Summary:

TIME(NANOS) and TIMESTAMP(NANOS) are valid Parquet LogicalTypes, but they have no legacy ConvertedType counterpart. TiDB's import path previously reduced LogicalType metadata to ConvertedType and could interpret nanosecond values as ordinary integers. UINT_32 values above 2^31 were also sign-extended when decoded from physical INT32 values.

What changed and how does it work?

  • Use Parquet LogicalType as the canonical type during import schema normalization.
  • Convert legacy ConvertedType metadata to LogicalType only when LogicalType is absent.
  • Read decimal precision and scale from DecimalLogicalType.
  • Preserve millisecond, microsecond, and nanosecond time units in value conversion.
  • Preserve unsigned UINT_32 values when decoding physical INT32 values.
  • Add parser coverage for TIME(NANOS) and TIMESTAMP(NANOS).
  • Add parser coverage for high-bit UINT_32 values.

Check List

Tests

  • Unit test
  • Integration test
  • Manual test (add detailed scripts or steps below)
  • No need to test
    • I checked and no code files have been changed.

Side effects

  • Performance regression: Consumes more CPU
  • Performance regression: Consumes more Memory
  • Breaking backward compatibility

Documentation

  • Affects user behaviors
  • Contains syntax changes
  • Contains variable changes
  • Contains experimental features
  • Changes MySQL compatibility

Release note

Fix Parquet IMPORT INTO handling for nanosecond temporal values and unsigned UINT_32 values.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added support for importing Parquet nanosecond-precision time values into MySQL TIME(6) and DATETIME(6) columns.
    • Added support for additional Parquet logical types, including UUID, unsigned integers, and enhanced decimal values.
    • Added Parquet writing support for float32 data.
  • Bug Fixes

    • Improved handling of time ranges, timezone adjustments, rounding, timestamp conversion, and Spark-generated timestamps.
    • Unsupported or invalid logical types now produce clear errors.
    • Preserved high-bit values for unsigned 32-bit integers.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

Parquet conversion now uses logical-type metadata for TIME, TIMESTAMP, decimals, UUIDs, and unsigned integers. The parser validates unsupported schemas and supports nanosecond conversion. Tests cover parser behavior, real-TiKV imports, float32 writing, and conflict resolution.

Changes

Parquet logical type handling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Logical type conversion
pkg/lightning/mydump/parquet_type_converter.go
Setters now use logical types for TIME, TIMESTAMP, decimals, integers, byte arrays, UUIDs, and unsupported-type handling. TIME values support nanosecond decoding, validation, and microsecond rounding.
Parser validation and behavior coverage
pkg/lightning/mydump/parquet_parser.go, pkg/lightning/mydump/parquet_parser_test.go
Conflict markers and the conflicting FileMeta declaration were removed. Tests cover logical type validation, durations, nanosecond timestamps, UUIDs, NULL values, nested schemas, Spark metadata, UINT32 values, and decimal conversion.
Parquet I/O and import integration
pkg/lightning/mydump/parquet_writer.go, tests/realtikvtest/importintotest/*, br/pkg/task/BUILD.bazel
Parquet writing and slicing now support []float32. The import test embeds a nanosecond fixture and checks TIME(6) and DATETIME(6) results. The task test shard count increased to 45.

Estimated code review effort: 4 (Complex) | ~45 minutes

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to 4069b

Parquet imports now preserve nanosecond temporal values and unsigned UINT_32 values using logical-type metadata. No concrete unresolved merge-blocking risk is identified in the supplied evidence.

Explanation

The core changes match the linked issues, but adding float32 support in parquet_writer.go is not connected to the TIME(NANOS), TIMESTAMP(NANOS), or UINT_32 objectives. The shard-count change also needs justification as test infrastructure for this PR.
