Numeric, decimal, temporal, INT96, and byte-array conversions use logical types directly. Tests cover nanosecond times and unsigned 32-bit integers. ChangesParquet logical-type conversion

[P1] Preserve the TIME(NANOS) day carry
A valid value such as 23:59:59.999999500 reaches this path. TiDB's established nearest-microsecond conversion rounds it into the next calendar day, but the later IMPORT cast from this timestamp datum to TIME(6) discards the date and persists 00:00:00.000000. This is different from the intentional sub-microsecond precision reduction: the value wraps by 24 hours. Please decode and round TIME as a duration so the result remains 24:00:00.000000, or reject the rollover case, and cover values immediately below and at the half-microsecond boundary.

Addressed in 5adf566 .
Previously, all the TIME type are stored as KindMysqlTime. Semantically speaking, it is better to store it as KindMysqlDuration, and can also prevent this problem.
TIME with unit MILLIS is used for millisecond precision. It must annotate an int32 that stores the number of milliseconds after midnight.
TIME with unit MICROS is used for microsecond precision. It must annotate an int64 that stores the number of microseconds after midnight.
TIME with unit NANOS is used for nanosecond precision. It must annotate an int64 that stores the number of nanoseconds after midnight.

[P1] Validate nested types at the group level
fileSchema.Column(i) enumerates primitive leaves, while standards-compliant LIST/MAP annotations live on their outer group nodes, so this validation never sees those annotations. The row iterator reads but ignores repetition levels; for two rows [10, 11] and [20], it can return 10 and 11 as the two rows and drop 20. Please traverse the root/group schema or reject fileSchema.HasRepeatedFields() before creating iterators, and add an end-to-end nested-schema test through NewParser rather than only testing this helper directly.

Handled in 5adf566 .
NewParser now rejects schemas with repeated fields before primitive iterators are created, so LIST, MAP, and unannotated repeated encodings cannot be misread by the row-oriented parser. The regression writes a standard LIST group schema and verifies rejection through NewParser.

[P2] Marker-bearing TIMESTAMP(NANOS) should bypass rebase rather than fail
Spark emits org.apache.spark.legacyDateTime at file scope in LEGACY write mode, but its TIMESTAMP(NANOS) implementation explicitly treats nanos as proleptic-Gregorian and exempt from rebasing. This guard therefore rejects valid modern and all-null nanos columns merely because another column caused the file-level marker. Please limit the datetime lookup to millis/micros and read nanos unchanged regardless of the marker; replace the rejection test with marker-bearing adjusted/unadjusted nanos cases. Spark references: https://github.com/apache/spark/blob/master/sql/core/src/main/scala/org/apache/spark/sql/execution/datasources/parquet/ParquetWriteSupport.scala#L117-L136 and https://github.com/apache/spark/blob/master/sql/core/src/main/scala/org/apache/spark/sql/execution/datasources/parquet/types/ops/TimestampNanosParquetOps.scala#L55-L58

Updated in 5adf566 .
Spark datetime rebase metadata is now consulted only for TIMESTAMP(MILLIS/MICROS). TIMESTAMP(NANOS) bypasses the file-level marker and is read unchanged; the defensive nanos branch in rebaseTimestampValue is also a no-op. The test covers marker-bearing adjusted and unadjusted nanos columns.

[P2] Enforce UNKNOWN consistently for every physical type
The new INT32 test expects a non-null NullLogicalType/UNKNOWN payload to fail, but the BOOLEAN, FLOAT, DOUBLE, and INT96 branches below do not inspect colType; they accept non-null payloads and convert them normally. Parquet defines UNKNOWN as always null. Please enforce the invariant generically before invoking the physical setter, or make these setters logical-type-aware, and table-drive the regression across these physical encodings.
There was a problem hiding this comment.
Covered in 5adf566 .
NULL/UNKNOWN handling is selected once when each column iterator is created, rather than checked in every Next() call. Null definition levels still produce NULL normally, while a non-null payload uses the error setter consistently across BOOLEAN, INT32, INT64, FLOAT, DOUBLE, and INT96.

Issue Number: close #70368, close #70359
Problem Summary:
TIME(NANOS)andTIMESTAMP(NANOS)are valid Parquet LogicalTypes, but they have no legacy ConvertedType counterpart. TiDB's import path previously reduced LogicalType metadata to ConvertedType and could interpret nanosecond values as ordinary integers. UINT_32 values above 2^31 were also sign-extended when decoded from physical INT32 values. What changed and how does it work?
