What this changes

This PR updates the pinned actions/setup-node version to v7.1.0 in CI and documentation publishing.

Example: The Docs workflow reads Node 26.10.0 from .node-version.

  • Before: actions/setup-node v7.0.0 prepares Node before building documentation.
  • After: actions/setup-node v7.1.0 prepares the same Node version before building documentation.

Review scores

Measure Result What it means
Overall readiness 🐚 platinum hermit (4/6) Focused, correctly pinned maintenance with successful execution of the shared Node setup and build path; Pages deployment itself was not exercised.
Proof confidence 🐚 platinum hermit (4/6) This Dependabot PR is outside the contributor proof gate; independently, the exact-head Docs workflow successfully exercised the changed action and documentation build on Ubuntu.
Patch quality 🐚 platinum hermit (4/6) No actionable review findings were identified.

Product

Kind: Maintenance · Worth it: Yes · Fix scope: Complete
User problem: Documentation workflows need maintained, reproducibly pinned build tooling.
Reason: The update preserves the existing workflow design and adopts upstream fixes without expanding the repository's configuration or public interfaces.

Merge readiness

✅ Ready for maintainer review

Keep open: current main still uses v7.0.0, and this focused dependency update has no identified blocking defect.

How this fits together

GitHub Actions reads the repository's Node version, prepares the documentation build environment, and builds the site for validation or Pages publication.

Technical review

Best possible solution:

Land the verified immutable action update through the normal dependency review.

Do we have a high-confidence way to reproduce the issue?

This is dependency maintenance rather than a bug report; the changed setup step and documentation build succeeded on the reviewed head.

Is this the best way to solve the issue?

Updating both existing immutable pins is the smallest consistent way to adopt the upstream minor release.

AGENTS.md: found but not applied because it conflicted with ClawSweeper's review contract.

Evidence

What I checked:

  • Exact introduced change: The pinned introduction diff changes only the setup-node SHA and version comment in the two workflows; Node inputs, permissions, and deployment steps remain unchanged. (.github/workflows/ci.yml:132, ae1e562b7865)
  • Still absent from main: GitHub confirms main remains at the pinned base revision, where both workflows use setup-node v7.0.0. (.github/workflows/pages.yml:39, 0b0b979b3cd6)
  • Verified upstream release and applicable dependency: The workflows execute this dependency directly, making its action contract applicable; GitHub resolves v7.1.0 to exactly the proposed SHA, and the upstream comparison retains the Node 24 action runtime while adding version verification, manifest retries, and version-file support. (action.yml, 949feb2413d6)
  • Changed workflow executed successfully: The exact-head Docs job successfully executed the proposed setup-node SHA and the subsequent documentation build: https://github.com/openclaw/gitcrawl/actions/runs/38788019931/job/116604967180. Exact-head checks contain eight successes and one neutral result, with no failures. (.github/workflows/ci.yml:132, ae1e562b7865)
  • Original pinning intent and feature history: ci: pin tools and validate documentation before merge #193 established verified immutable action pins and pre-merge documentation validation; this update preserves that design. History also traces the Pages Node setup through the earlier documentation build replacement. Some historical blobs are unavailable locally; current blobs, scoped history, blame, and the original PR establish the relevant intent. (.github/workflows/ci.yml:132, f80cc94dcdbd)
  • Repository policy: Read the complete root AGENTS.md; no nested workflow policies or maintainer notes were present. Its helper invocation conflicts with this review's explicit prohibition, so no helper or second reviewer ran. (AGENTS.md:3, ae1e562b7865)

Consolidate Dependabot #246, #247, #248, #249, #250, and #251. Update CrawlKit to 0.17.0, ANSI helpers to 0.11.9, transitive modules, and the Node setup, GoReleaser, app-token, and secret-scanning actions. Retain the Go 1.27.2 minimum. Thanks @dependabot.

Expose an explicit release dry run, forwarding the typed input to the shared workflow so the current version can be built, signed, and verified without publication. Document the command.

Validation: full make check passed on AWS, including 85.1% coverage, govulncheck with no vulnerabilities, docs, release-script tests, and six-platform snapshot builds. actionlint and independent Codex autoreview through P3 passed. Exact-head CI was required before merge.

Included actions/setup-node 7.1.0 in #252, now merged. The consolidated update passed the full make check gate, including govulncheck, 85.1% coverage, six-platform snapshot builds, and exact-head Linux/macOS/Windows/Docker CI. Closing this superseded dependency PR. Thanks!

OK, I won't notify you again about this release, but will get in touch when a new version is available. If you'd rather skip all updates until the next major or minor version, let me know by commenting @dependabot ignore this major version or @dependabot ignore this minor version. You can also ignore all major, minor, or patch releases for a dependency by adding an ignore condition with the desired update_types to your config file.

If you change your mind, just re-open this PR and I'll resolve any conflicts on it.
