## [Unreleased]

### Fixed
- Over-long text for ElevenLabs and xAI TTS no longer crashes sumvox when it contains Chinese or other multi-byte characters; it is cut at a character boundary.
- `--rate` is now optional: when omitted, the `rate` from your config (or the engine default) is used instead of being overwritten with 200.
- An unknown `--tts` value now fails with an error naming it, instead of silently running the whole fallback chain.
- `--provider` now keeps the matching config entry's `base_url` and `timeout`; `--model` only replaces the model.
- Concurrent playbacks no longer overwrite each other's temporary audio file.
- The Google Cloud TTS token request no longer uses system proxy detection, avoiding the macOS CoreFoundation crash.

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Remove the newly created file when writing fails.

If the temporary filesystem fills or a quota is reached, write_all can fail after writing part of the audio. (doc.rust-lang.org) The helper then returns an error without removing the file. Neither caller receives the path, so neither caller reaches its cleanup. Unique filenames let repeated failures accumulate partial audio files.

Remove the file after a write failure. Do not remove an existing path when open fails.

Review comment at @src/audio/player.rs at line 369:
Update the file-writing chain around write_all to remove the newly created file
if writing fails, while leaving the path untouched when opening it fails.
