What this changes

Review follow-up 9, which is WP9 of the redesign plan. The WP9 tasks are written first in tasks.md (W9-T01 to T07), and R-09 is ticked. The copy follows plan section 8 and the Plain English layer from the review. That means short sentences, a named actor, "you" and "we", no em dashes or semicolons in body copy, no triads and no "X, not Y". The legal pages keep their content and change only their wording.

Section-root headlines, all under 24 characters. The lede now says what the old headline said.

Page Before After
/mcp/ (and revision pages) Who supports what in MCP Authorization Who supports what
/standards/ The standards map (already short) unchanged
/explorer/ How authority moves from a person through agents to an API Delegation chains
/breaches/ Published failures in how agents were authorized Agent auth failures
/mcp/scanner/ What a server's metadata says, measured every night The nightly scanner

The scanner lede also drops from four sentences with a colon list and a semicolon to two sentences. The request details are still in "What it reads" further down the page.

Base.astro. The home title is now "letsauth · the lab for agent authorization", without the em dash. The footer statement drops "in the agent era" and the triad: "An independent lab for agent authorization, run by Let's Auth Labs. Each cell cites its source and the data is open. Only a nightly scan of public metadata ever contacts a server."

Accessibility statement. A new Motion section lists every animation from plan section 4 in plain words, with its reduced-motion form. That covers page transitions, count-up, the map draw-in, explorer steps, Play and auto-advance, toggles, the decision log, the matrix crosshair and dialog, the scanner ladder, the breach timeline, the reading bar and control transitions. "Known limits" now describes the matrix on phones (R-05) and the standards outline (R-04).

Prose gate. FAIL is now true in scripts/check-prose.ts, so pnpm check fails on any hit. "game-changer" and "holistic" from the review's list are added to the banned words. The remaining hits are fixed in README.md ("nothing is inferred from silence", "ecosystem", "first-class", "yours to download"), docs/data-model.md (em dashes) and docs/roadmap.md. docs/development.md now describes the check as a gate.

Pages rewritten. About (principles renamed from "Cited, not asserted" and "Unknown is honest" to plain names, and the "Why a lab" paragraph split up), contribute, made in Europe, privacy, imprint, disclaimer and 404. The headings "Privacy note: no cookies, no accounts, no tracking" and "Disclaimer: independent, unaffiliated, no advice" become "Privacy note" and "Disclaimer". updated moves to 22 October on the pages whose wording changed.

The screenshots were committed once for stable URLs and removed in the next commit, so the squashed diff has no images.

Code checklist

  • pnpm check passes, with check:prose now as a gate ("Prose OK: 52 files").
  • Pages still read fully without JavaScript. No script or island changes.
  • Both themes checked. All 396 e2e tests pass locally with snapshots ignored. One phone matrix dialog test failed once under load and passed three of three on a rerun. Section heads changed on purpose, so the head baselines need the refresh-screenshots label (W9-T07).

…ssibility statement, prose gate)

WP9 of the visual redesign plan. Section-root headlines are under 24
characters, the home title and footer statement lose the em dash and
"agent era", the accessibility statement lists every animation with its
reduced-motion form, check:prose fails on any hit, and the about,
contribute, made-in-Europe, legal and 404 pages are rewritten in plain
English with legal content unchanged. Before and after screenshots in
pr-shots/ for the pull request, removed in the next commit.
