Fixes the standalone-build defect merged in #731 (squash 61e1621) — the finding both bots raised and I merged past: codex P1 ×2 (src/config.zig:1265, examples/material-demo/project.labelle:48) and CodeRabbit Major ×2 (same two sites).

The defect

#731 bumped the explicit bgfx pin in examples/material-demo and examples/pack-city to 0.20.0, and the builtin .bgfx provider default to 0.20.0, while both examples kept .core_version = "1.26.0" and the labelle init scaffold trio kept core 1.28.0. The assembler unifies every package onto the project's .core_version, so a standalone labelle build compiles bgfx 0.20.0 against the pinned core.

Standalone reproduction BEFORE this change (scratch LABELLE_HOME, assembler binary copied outside the toolkit tree so findRepoRoot finds no labelle-core sibling, registry tarballs at the pinned tags — each exit code captured separately, generate failed grep = 0):

project pins install generate zig build
material-demo core 1.26.0 / engine 2.6.0 / gfx 1.28.1 / bgfx 0.20.0 0 0 1
pack-city same 0 0 1
init --backend=bgfx scaffold core 1.28.0 / engine 2.12.2 / gfx 1.30.1 / bgfx 0.20.0 0 0 0 (see below)

Exact error for both examples:

.labelle/deps/labelle-bgfx/src/gfx/types.zig:17:38: error: root source file struct 'root' has no member named 'BackendTextureId'
pub const Texture = struct { id: core.BackendTextureId, width: i32, height: i32 };

What is actually true (the bots were half right)

  • bgfx 0.20.0's hard core floor is 1.28.0: core.BackendTextureId (core#328 phase 3, bgfx ≥ 0.15.0) is a struct-field type, analyzed eagerly. That is what kills the examples at core 1.26.0. fix(examples): pin pixel_water-safe backends; bump the bgfx/sokol builtin defaults #731's comments claiming 0.20.0 "builds against the pinned 1.26.0" were false.
  • The v1.32.0 PixelWaterDraw / PIXEL_WATER_* names are not a compile floor. They are top-level aliases (pub const PixelWaterDraw = core.backend_contract.PixelWaterDraw;) and every path that reaches them sits behind @hasField(MaterialEffect, "pixel_water"); an unreferenced alias is never analyzed. So the scaffold at core 1.28.0 + bgfx 0.20.0 does build standalone (verified — exe produced with core 1.28.0 / bgfx 0.20.0 resolved from the scratch cache). The "guaranteed to fail compilation" half of the codex/CodeRabbit findings is wrong; the examples half is right.

Why CI missed it

  1. The showcase job clones labelle-core at main (= 1.32.0) as a sibling; the assembler's monorepo auto-discovery (findRepoRoot walks up from the executable) builds that sibling instead of .core_version. The fix(examples): pin pixel_water-safe backends; bump the bgfx/sokol builtin defaults #731 verification ran in that same layout.
  2. The two bgfx games are generate-only in CI (CI only generates the bgfx examples, so compile breaks in a pinned backend pass unnoticed #732), so even a bad pairing never reached zig build.
  3. The curated-set job scaffolds with --backend=null, so the bgfx provider default is never paired with the trio in CI.

The fix

Examples (material-demo, pack-city): runtime trio raised to core 1.32.0 / engine 2.12.2 / gfx 1.30.1 (.labelle_version stays 1.58.0 — install never fetches it, generate did not need it to move). Floor reasoning:

  • bgfx 0.20.0 hard floor: core ≥ 1.28.0 (BackendTextureId).
  • core 1.32.0 is the core labelle-bgfx 0.20.0 was released against (its own build.zig.zon), the only core on which the pixel_water effect the backend ships is reachable, and at/above labelle-bgfx's own examples/bgfx-android pins (core 1.32.0 / engine 2.11.0 / gfx 1.30.0).
  • Every floor in build.zig / checkTrioFloors holds: engine ≥ 2.11.0 → core ≥ 1.27.0 + gfx ≥ 1.28.0; gfx ≥ 1.30.0 → core ≥ 1.28.0 + engine ≥ 2.12.1. Using the curated trio (with core raised) means the examples and a fresh scaffold prove ONE pairing rather than a bespoke one (2.11.0/1.30.0 would violate the stated engine ≥ 2.12.1 floor).

Scaffold (build.zig): curated core default 1.28.0 → 1.32.0, as a curated floor (same class as the existing gfx ≥ 1.28 post-fx floor): a labelle init --backend=bgfx scaffold should not pair a backend with a core older than that backend's own pin. Noted honestly in the comment that 1.28.0 still compiles. No other 1.28.0 hardcode needed changing: checkTrioFloors keeps 1.28.0 as the gfx-1.30 floor (still correct); the "current curated set" table row moved to 1.32.0 with the old row kept as still-coherent.

New hermetic guard (src/init_cmd.zig): checkBgfxProviderFloors reads the REAL builtinProvider(.bgfx) default (now pub) and asserts bgfx ≥ 0.15.0 → core ≥ 1.28.0 (compile floor) and bgfx ≥ 0.20.0 → core ≥ 1.32.0 (curated). The table test rejects both #731 pairings (1.28.0+0.20.0 and 1.26.0+0.20.0). This is the cheap half of the bgfx pairing the curated-set job never sees.

Comments: rewrote #731's false "compatible with the pinned core" claims in both project.labelle, both READMEs, src/config.zig's provider note and docs/showcase-plan.md to say what is true (hard floor 1.28.0, lazy pixel-water names, 1.32.0 = released-against pin). material-demo's scope note updated: engine 2.12.2 does expose game.setMaterial, the demo still exercises post-fx only.

Untouched, deliberately: the builtin .bgfx 0.20.0 / .sokol 0.6.0 provider strings — correct; the mismatch was on the core side.

Standalone proof AFTER the fix

Same layout (scratch LABELLE_HOME, out-of-tree binary rebuilt from this branch, no sibling checkouts). Resolved deps checked from the generated .labelle/deps/*/build.zig.zon: core 1.32.0 / engine 2.12.2 / gfx 1.30.1 / bgfx 0.20.0. generate failed grep = 0 everywhere. Full zig build, not generate-only:

project install generate zig build
material-demo 0 0 0
pack-city 0 0 0
init --backend=bgfx (stamps core 1.32.0) 0 0 0
init --backend=null 0 0 0
init --backend=raylib (the init default) 0 0 0
init --backend=sokol 0 0 0

zig build test --summary all: 83/83 steps succeeded; 2890/2902 tests passed (12 skipped), exit 0 (includes the 2 new tests). zig fmt --check clean.

Follow-ups (not in this PR)

  • labelle-cli versions.zon still says core 1.28.0 / bgfx 0.15.0 through v1.67.0 — labelle upgrade all will rewrite a fresh scaffold's core back to 1.28.0 (which still compiles). The cli side should move to core 1.32.0 / bgfx 0.20.0 to stay in step, per build.zig's note.
  • CI only generates the bgfx examples, so compile breaks in a pinned backend pass unnoticed #732: the bgfx games are still generate-only in CI; a full build there (or a bgfx variant of curated-set) is what would have caught this.
  • Not verified here: running the built bgfx games (windowed; build-only proof as requested).

Refs #731, #732.

…caffold (#731 follow-up)

#731 bumped the bgfx pin in examples/material-demo and examples/pack-city
(and the builtin `.bgfx` provider default) to 0.20.0 while leaving the
examples on core 1.26.0 and the `labelle init` trio on core 1.28.0. The
assembler unifies every package onto `.core_version`, and released bgfx
0.20.0 has a HARD core floor of 1.28.0 (`core.BackendTextureId`, a struct
field type, eagerly analyzed), so on a STANDALONE checkout both examples
died inside the backend:

  labelle-bgfx/src/gfx/types.zig:17:38: error: root source file struct
  'root' has no member named 'BackendTextureId'

CI never saw it: the showcase job clones labelle-core at `main` as a
sibling that monorepo auto-discovery builds INSTEAD of the pin, and the
bgfx games are generate-only there (#732). The v1.32.0 PixelWaterDraw /
PIXEL_WATER_* names are NOT a compile floor (lazy aliases behind
`@hasField` gates; a core-1.28.0 scaffold does build standalone) — the
#731 comments claiming 0.20.0 "builds against the pinned 1.26.0" were
false regardless.

- examples: runtime trio -> core 1.32.0 / engine 2.12.2 / gfx 1.30.1 (the
  curated set with core raised; satisfies every checkTrioFloors floor, at
  or above labelle-bgfx's own bgfx-android pins).
- build.zig: curated core default 1.28.0 -> 1.32.0 as a CURATED floor —
  the core bgfx 0.20.0 was released against.
- init_cmd.zig: checkBgfxProviderFloors reads the real builtinProvider
  (now pub) default and asserts both floors; table test rejects the two
  #731 pairings.
- comments/READMEs/showcase-plan: say what is actually true.

Verified standalone (scratch LABELLE_HOME, out-of-tree binary, registry
tarballs at the pinned tags): install -> generate -> full `zig build`
exit 0 for both examples and for bgfx/null/raylib/sokol scaffolds.

Comment thread src/init_cmd.zig Resolved
…folding (#736 review)

`checkBgfxProviderFloors` was a test-only helper; `cmdInit` parsed
`--backend` and `--core-version` and called `scaffold` without consulting
it, so `labelle init --backend=bgfx --core-version=1.26.0` still wrote a
project that dies inside the backend at its first `labelle build` — the
#731 standalone failure, reachable through the front door.

- `backendCoreFloorViolation` (production): resolves the REAL
  `builtinProvider(.bgfx)` version and checks it against the one floor
  table, `bgfx_core_floors`. Hard floor (>= 0.15.0 -> core >= 1.28.0,
  `core.BackendTextureId`) is fatal in `cmdInit`: named diagnostic, exit
  2, nothing written. Curated floor (>= 0.20.0 -> core >= 1.32.0) warns
  and scaffolds — an explicit older core still builds.
- The test helper is now a one-line wrapper over the same validator, so
  the table the tests pin is the table the user hits.
- New test asserts the 1.26.0 refusal (severity, floor, recommended
  core, message names the real provider version + BackendTextureId), the
  1.28.0 warning, and that 1.32.0 / the scaffold default / other backends
  / `local:` pins / unknown names pass through. Force-failed (floor
  lowered) to prove discovery, restored.

Acknowledged — real, and a quick win. Merging #736 as-is (the finding is Minor; the merge gate is Major-and-above) and folding the fix into #733's final pass, which is editing init_cmd.zig's floor table in the same window and ships in the same assembler release: reject an unknown --backend with a diagnostic listing the valid names before backendCoreFloorViolation runs, plus a test asserting --backend=bgxf exits non-zero and writes nothing.

…ct v2), materials pin gate, --backend validation

The P1 on #733: a project with `materials/` on the ordinary
`.backend = .bgfx` defaults generated fine and always died at the
generated module's `@compileError` because the defaults still resolved
bgfx 0.20.0 / core 1.32.0 while the module requires material contract
v2. The fix is the defaults, moved TOGETHER (the #731 lesson):

- src/config.zig builtinProvider `.bgfx` 0.20.0 -> 0.21.0 (first
  contract-v2 backend; names `shader_material` ungated, hard floor
  core >= 2.0.0). `.sokol` stays 0.6.0.
- build.zig scaffold trio 1.32.0 / 2.12.2 / 1.30.1 -> core 2.0.0 /
  engine 3.0.0 / gfx 2.0.0; floor comments rewritten to the new truth.
- init_cmd `bgfx_core_floors`: bgfx >= 0.21.0 -> core >= 2.0.0
  (compile_break) on top of #736's table; `checkTrioFloors` gains the
  2.0.0-line floors (gfx 2 <-> core 2 + engine 3, engine 3 <-> core 2 +
  gfx 2); #736's tests extended to the new pairings.
- material_pipeline: `contractViolation`/`requireContract` reject, at
  generate time, an EXPLICIT pre-contract-v2 `.backend_package` /
  `.core_version` pin on a project that owns materials/, naming the pin
  and the floor (the "reject incompatible release pins" half of the P1;
  #739 tracks the general floor check). `parsePin`/`pinAtLeast` move to
  config.zig so init and generate share one comparison.
- init: reject an unknown `--backend=` BEFORE the floor check and before
  writing anything, listing the valid backends from the enum (#736
  CodeRabbit follow-up). Front door verified: `--backend=bgxf` -> exit 2,
  no directory, diagnostic lists raylib, sokol, sdl, bgfx, wgpu, null.
- docs/shader-migration.md: release-sequence step 5 is done.

…ist (#733)

* examples: add the COND-07 condenser pixel-water example

A runnable Labelle game for labelle-bgfx#100's acceptance criterion —
"a runnable Labelle example using this condenser's artwork" — exercising
the engine's built-in `PixelWater` component and bgfx's `fs_pixel_water`
program through the ordinary `labelle` CLI path. Modelled on
examples/material-demo (bgfx + engine + zig_ecs).

Two COND-07 condenser units side by side, each with a reactive reservoir,
drifting mist and condensation drops that contact the CURRENT water
surface and emit one ripple each via `game.addWaterRipple`.

What it proves, beyond "it ran":

* `PixelWater` is authored in a PREFAB's JSON config
  (prefabs/reservoir.jsonc), not inline in the scene, so the JSONC apply
  path's built-in branch (`game.addPixelWater`) runs on a prefab.
* The scene instantiates that prefab TWICE and overrides only
  `water_level` (and the `Reservoir.unit` marker) at the instance site —
  the RFC-OVERRIDES-MERGE-RULES deep merge, on a built-in component.
  Both instances came up live at their overridden levels (0.8333 / 0.5),
  so the merge does not drop the component and the field does override.
* Two INDEPENDENT gfx water instances from one prefab.
* Draw order / foreground occlusion by layer order: machine interior ->
  water -> mist -> drops -> cooler -> frame. Emitter A (reservoir-local
  x 21) sits behind the cooler and is occluded on the way down.
* Nothing fakes the water: the only contact with the effect is one
  `addWaterRipple` per drop.

Measurements (native canvas 103x55, reservoir x 4 y 48 w 93 h 6, emitters
at local x 21/28/43/51/65) come from labelle-bgfx PR #106, whose layer
PNGs are vendored into assets/layers/ because that branch is unmerged.
`grid_pixels` is 1 — a native art pixel IS an effect cell; #100's "6x6"
is the x6 screen enlargement. Unit A is filled to 5/6 (the basin is only
6 native rows tall, so the level has 6 steps) to keep one dry row of
headroom, since at level 1.0 the shader clamps the displaced surface and
ripples become invisible.

Verified on desktop bgfx/Metal: `bgfx: pixel-water program initialized`,
no degrade line from programs.zig or retained_engine/draw.zig, and a
reservoir-band frame diff (drop and occluder columns excluded) that moves
by 66%/39% of cells with water on and is BIT-IDENTICAL with the effect
switched off via the example's `CONDENSER_WATER_OFF=1` control.

* Keep condenser mist stationary to focus on water animation

* Keep reservoir still except for drop impact ripples

* Preserve reference-resolution condenser art at native display scale

* Add game-owned shader material build pipeline and collision checks

* feat(condenser): own water fog and lamp shaders and controls

* Document coordinated shader migration and validation limits

* Add game-owned drifting mist above live reservoir water

* review: make the condenser verification runnable off Windows; restore the constraints the migration dropped

tools/verify_runtime.py hard-coded `condenser.exe`, so the example's only
real runtime acceptance could not be executed on macOS or Linux. With the
platform-correct binary name it passes unchanged on macOS/Metal: 16 native
runs, eight live generic materials each, right half byte-identical for
every left-only control.

Documentation the migration dropped, and which the generic path still
carries:

- A `.catalog` shader-texture binding must be a STANDALONE `.image`
  resource. The engine rejects any catalog entry whose `loader_kind` is
  not `.image` with `error.InvalidTexture`
  (labelle-engine/src/game/shader_material_mixin.zig), so an atlas frame
  can never be a mask. This was true of the retired built-in water effect
  and is unchanged; it was documented in project.labelle and was deleted
  with the rest of that header. Restored there and stated in
  docs/shader-materials.md, where the generic contract lives.
- The screen-space layer rationale (a world layer centres the world
  origin and puts the measured native-px coordinates half a screen off).
- The `local:` selections are marked as what they are: not mergeable.

docs/shader-migration.md's release sequence was missing the step that
would otherwise reproduce the assembler#731 break in reverse: a default
`.backend = .bgfx` resolves through `ProjectConfig.builtinProvider`,
still pinned at 0.6.6 here, so the released contract-v2 backend must be
adopted in the SAME change as the new core. Also records assembler#732 —
the examples lane only GENERATES bgfx examples, so a green run is not
evidence this example builds.

Plus: `DuplicateMaterialName` returned with no diagnostic; it now names
both colliding folders and why the comparison folds case.

zig build test --summary all: 2904/2916 passed (12 skipped), exit 0.
Generated example suite: 20/20, exit 0. examples/plugin-controllers
regenerated + built + run to exercise the emitted
`rejectComponentCollisions` guard on a plugin-bearing project.

* condenser: pin the released shader-material stack instead of local siblings

Replace the four `local:../../../labelle-*` development selections in
examples/condenser/project.labelle with the released pins: core 2.0.0,
gfx 2.0.0, engine 3.0.0 and the bgfx backend 0.21.0 (the first contract-v2
backend; it requires core >= 2.0.0, so the four move together). The
assembler stays `local:../../` like every example. labelle.lock was
regenerated through the CLI (v1.67.0, no override needed). README and
docs/shader-migration.md now describe the released pins; step 5 of the
release sequence (src/config.zig builtin provider default + scaffold
trio) deliberately stays untouched and follows assembler#736.

Verified as a standalone consumer: the assembler checkout mirrored
outside the monorepo (no sibling labelle-* checkouts, so findRepoRoot
finds nothing), scratch LABELLE_HOME, `labelle build` exit 0 with no
`generate failed` and no "built from LOCAL sources" warning, staged
build.zig.zon versions 2.0.0/2.0.0/3.0.0/0.21.0 byte-identical to the
tagged manifests, `labelle run --timeout=8` exit 0 with all four shader
components reporting 2/2 generic materials live and no degrade/fallback
line. Assembler `zig build test`: 2904/2916 passed, 12 skipped
(branch baseline).

* review(#733): enum-keyed material backend gate, mobile target alias, mist in test_all, doc status

- material_pipeline: gate game-owned materials on the `.bgfx` ENUM TAG
  (`requireBackend`), not the resolved package name — `.backend = .bgfx`
  with a provider named e.g. `bgfx_v2` was rejected with
  UnsupportedMaterialBackend (Codex P2). Test covers a non-literal
  provider name (accepted) and `.sokol` (rejected).
- build_zig: `needsTargetAlias` includes `opts.materials.len != 0`, so a
  materials-only iOS/Android game defines `target` before
  material_build.zig consumes it (CodeRabbit). Test asserts the alias
  precedes the consumer and is absent without materials.
- condenser: `test_all` (CONDENSER_TEST_LEFT=1) now toggles the left
  mist too; README lists the four-way control (CodeRabbit).
- docs/shader-migration.md: released pins, mist, 20 tests, Metal +
  Android verified live (CodeRabbit).

* defaults: bgfx 0.21.0 + core 2.0.0 / gfx 2.0.0 / engine 3.0.0 (contract v2), materials pin gate, --backend validation

- src/config.zig builtinProvider `.bgfx` 0.20.0 -> 0.21.0 (first
  contract-v2 backend; names `shader_material` ungated, hard floor
  core >= 2.0.0). `.sokol` stays 0.6.0.
- build.zig scaffold trio 1.32.0 / 2.12.2 / 1.30.1 -> core 2.0.0 /
  engine 3.0.0 / gfx 2.0.0; floor comments rewritten to the new truth.
- init_cmd `bgfx_core_floors`: bgfx >= 0.21.0 -> core >= 2.0.0
  (compile_break) on top of #736's table; `checkTrioFloors` gains the
  2.0.0-line floors (gfx 2 <-> core 2 + engine 3, engine 3 <-> core 2 +
  gfx 2); #736's tests extended to the new pairings.
- material_pipeline: `contractViolation`/`requireContract` reject, at
  generate time, an EXPLICIT pre-contract-v2 `.backend_package` /
  `.core_version` pin on a project that owns materials/, naming the pin
  and the floor (the "reject incompatible release pins" half of the P1;
  #739 tracks the general floor check). `parsePin`/`pinAtLeast` move to
  config.zig so init and generate share one comparison.
- init: reject an unknown `--backend=` BEFORE the floor check and before
  writing anything, listing the valid backends from the enum (#736
  CodeRabbit follow-up). Front door verified: `--backend=bgxf` -> exit 2,
  no directory, diagnostic lists raylib, sokol, sdl, bgfx, wgpu, null.
- docs/shader-migration.md: release-sequence step 5 is done.

* review(#733, round 3): scope the bgfx materials floor to the official train; trio floors as an init validator; document M

- material_pipeline: the 0.21.0 release floor now applies only when the
  resolved provider IS the official labelle-bgfx (repo == the builtin
  provider's repo). A custom provider (`.backend_package` on another
  repo, its own semver) passes the pin gate and is validated by the
  generated `MATERIAL_CONTRACT_VERSION == 2` guard instead. Test: acme
  bgfx_v2 0.1.0 accepted; official bgfx 0.20.0 still rejected whatever
  the package is called; the core floor still applies (Codex P2).
- init_cmd: the trio floors move out of the test helper into a
  production table (`trio_floors`) + validator (`trioFloorViolation`)
  that `cmdInit` runs before scaffolding, same policy as the backend
  floors (compile break refuses, curated warns); `checkTrioFloors` is
  now a thin wrapper over it. Front door: `init --engine-version=2.12.2`
  -> exit 2, nothing written, "labelle-gfx 2.0.0 requires labelle-engine
  >= 3.0.0; got core 2.0.0 / engine 2.12.2 / gfx 2.0.0 (...). Pass
  --engine-version=3.0.0"; defaults -> exit 0. Scope is init only;
  generate/upgrade is #739 (Codex P2).
- condenser README: M toggles mist (CodeRabbit).

…bgfx remote; floor the 2.x core line (#739, #742) (#746)

* fix: apply the version floors in generate/check/upgrade, normalize the bgfx remote, floor the 2.x core line (#739, #742)

Two holes left by #736's `init`-only validators, closed against the same
tables — no second copy of the floors.

#742.1 — `isOfficialBgfx` compared the RAW repo string, so the
`https://…/labelle-bgfx.git` spelling of the official repo (which the
fetch path clones happily) was classified as a CUSTOM provider, skipped
`contractViolation`, and failed at the generated
`MATERIAL_CONTRACT_VERSION` guard instead of at generate with the pin
named. `config.normalizeRemote`/`sameRemote` strip the scheme and a
`.git` suffix and case-fold the host; `local:` paths compare verbatim.

#742.2 — the trio rules all keyed off a NEW gfx or engine, so
`init --engine-version=2.12.2 --gfx-version=1.30.1` under the default
core 2.0.0 scaffolded a set the table's own docs call incompatible. Two
reverse rules (core >= 2.0.0 floors engine >= 3.0.0 and gfx >= 2.0.0),
ordered after the gfx/engine-subject rules so an old core under a new
gfx keeps naming gfx as the subject.

#739 — the floors moved from `init_cmd.zig` to `version_floors.zig`
(which also drops init_cmd under the 1000-line line) and now run at
every door that writes or resolves the pairing:

  * `generate`/`check` — `configBackendCoreFloorViolation` resolves the
    EFFECTIVE backend package, so an explicit `.backend_package` (which
    `init` has no flag for, so it was unreachable before) is judged too,
    in every spelling of the official remote. A non-official provider
    carries its own semver and is left to the generated contract guard.
  * `upgrade` — validated on the PROSPECTIVE pins, before the rewrite
    lands, so a refusal leaves project.labelle untouched. It refuses only
    when the upgrade moves a floor-bearing pin: `upgrade cli` on an
    already-below-floor project warns and proceeds rather than blocking
    an unrelated bump, and `upgrade all` still REPAIRS such a project.

`enforce` splits into a pure `verdict` (so tests assert which table
refused, without emitting error logs) and the logging wrapper the
commands call. The #736 severity split is unchanged: compile break
refuses, curated floor warns.

Verified STANDALONE (whole checkout mirrored outside the toolkit,
scratch LABELLE_HOME, registry packages), each with a negative control
on the pre-fix binary:
  * bgfx 0.20.0 via `https://…/labelle-bgfx.git` + materials/: before
    generate exit 0; after, refused naming the 0.20.0 pin.
  * `init --engine-version=2.12.2 --gfx-version=1.30.1`: before exit 0
    and a scaffolded project; after exit 2, nothing written, all three
    pins + the floor named.
  * hand-edited core 1.32.0 / engine 2.12.2 / gfx 1.30.1 under builtin
    bgfx 0.21.0: before generate exit 0 and `zig build` died with
    "root source file struct 'root' has no member named 'shader_material'"
    inside labelle-bgfx; after, refused at generate.
  * `upgrade core 1.32.0`: before rewrote the pin; after exit 2,
    unchanged.
  * Regression: default `init --backend=bgfx` and the condenser /
    material-demo / pack-city examples generate AND fully `zig build`
    (exit 0); tile-explorer, sprite-runner, camera-builtin generate.

Tests: 2926/2938 passed (12 skipped), exit 0 — +9 over the 2917/2929
baseline; all six new tests force-failed and confirmed collected.

* fix: identify the provider from the package, unify remote normalization, restore the manifest-first ordering, evaluate decidable trio rules (#746 review)

Four review findings, all verified standalone against a pre-fix binary
(mirrored checkout outside the toolkit tree with a scratch LABELLE_HOME,
so sibling checkouts cannot mask the pins).

1. [P1] Explicit providers were identified via the IGNORED `.backend`
   enum. When a project selects the official bgfx repo solely through
   `.backend_package`, `ProjectConfig` documents that `.backend` is
   ignored and it sits at its meaningless `.raylib` default — yet
   `isOfficialProvider(cfg.backend, bp)` compared the bgfx package
   against the RAYLIB remote, answered "third party", and dropped the
   floor. `officialBackendOf(bp)` now derives the backend from the
   resolved package alone.
   Control: bgfx 0.21.0 + core 1.32.0 via `.backend_package` —
   `check` pre-fix exit 0 ("nothing to lint"), post-fix exit 2 naming
   `bgfx 0.21.0 requires labelle-core >= 2.0.0`.

2. [P2] `normalizeRemote` did not strip `?query`/`#fragment` (or a
   `git+` prefix outside the one `git+https://` spelling), while the
   fetch path's `repoHostPath` did — so
   `git+https://github.com/labelle-toolkit/labelle-bgfx?ref=main`
   FETCHED the official backend and was then judged custom. The
   divergence was the bug, so `repoHostPath` now delegates to
   `config.normalizeRemote`: one normalizer, and the identity a gate
   compares is by construction the identity the fetcher resolves.
   Control: that exact repo string, `.backend = .bgfx` so finding 1
   cannot confound — pre-fix exit 0, post-fix exit 2.

3. [P2] The floor check ran BEFORE `requireManifestIfExternal`, so an
   external provider that both lacked its manifest and carried bad pins
   was told to change framework versions while the real blocker — a
   provider unusable at any version — went unmentioned. Moved after it,
   still ahead of any target-file emission.
   Control: manifest-less `local:` provider + a trio compile break —
   pre-fix reports VersionFloorViolation, post-fix reports
   ExternalBackendNeedsManifest; adding the manifest brings the floor
   error back, so the reorder did not drop the check.

4. [P2] One non-semver pin suppressed EVERY trio rule. Each rule reads
   exactly two pins, so decidability is per rule: a rule is skipped only
   when its own subject or requirement is unparseable.
   Control: `core_version = "local:../labelle-core"`, engine 3.0.0, gfx
   1.30.1 — pre-fix exit 0, post-fix exit 2 naming
   `labelle-engine 3.0.0 requires labelle-gfx >= 2.0.0`.

Two in-tree assertions that encoded the old blanket behaviour were
updated and now assert WHICH rule fires, not merely that the result is
null.

`zig build test --summary all`: 2928 pass / 2940 total, exit 0 (was
2926/2938 — +2, the new tests). Force-failing each takes the suite to
2 fail, exit 1.
