GitHub’s license detection was classifying the repository as
NOASSERTION/Otherbecause the rootLICENSEfile included a non-standard Microsoft copyright line alongside the canonical MIT text. The upstream Microsoft attribution is still important, but it belongs inNOTICE.md, not in the project’s SPDX-matching license text.Summary
LICENSEto the canonical MIT text.NOTICE.md.Changes
Portions Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation.clause fromLICENSE.NOTICE.mdto document the derived source cleanly. This keeps the repository aligned with GitHub’s MIT SPDX identification while preserving the required attribution trail for the upstream Microsoft code and materials.
