Checklist:

Follow up on the now-closed PR #602. This PR adds documentation to PR #602 that explains the steps needed to locally run an integration between FreeCodeCamp proper and Classroom. This PR also introduces a new test case, for calling get-user-data on a student who revoked FCC Classroom's permission to access their data.

This stops a 'Conflicting Peer Dependency' error from occurring when you run npm install
while react is currently below 18.3.1

Thank you, @NewtonLC. The toolchain update on main (#623 to #628) moved the code to TypeScript and replaced Jest with Vitest.

This PR now conflicts with main.

Both parts are still useful:

  • The "consent revoked" test case is not on main. Please add it to __tests__/utils/fccApi.test.ts (Vitest, TypeScript).
  • The README was rewritten and does not explain how to run Classroom with a local freeCodeCamp. Please add your steps to the new README.

Please rebase on the latest main. The setup now uses Node 26 and pnpm 12. pnpm run lint, pnpm test and pnpm run build must pass.

Replaced by #685, which redoes these changes on top of the current main.
