The merge of main left TabStrip drawing the menu twice with two Rename tab items, so the tab menu never matched in the browser regression. The tab menu assertions now include the layout items main added.

🟡 Minor · Keep the pending key until all overlapping moves settle. · paneMove.ts:60-69
src/lib/paneMove.ts:60-69
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winKeep the pending key until all overlapping moves settle.
Both move menus allow another move for the same pane while the first request is pending. A first rejection or
changed: falseresponse then removes the shared pending key infinally. If the second move has already removed the old pane from the roster,Appcan fall back before the second response arrives. The second response may then fail to select its new pane because the old pane is no longer selected.Use a reference count for each pending pane key.

A pane moved without focus out of a tab or workspace it had alone left the demo's focused tab and workspace ids on what had just closed. A pane that is still there now takes the focus, outside the destination when there is one. DESIGN.md loses the paragraphs the merge of main left twice and lists Move pane to… in the tab menu.
…oved PC (#804) <!-- See CONTRIBUTING.md for checks, translations, contract tests and the changelog. --> ## Change Follow-up to #762. CodeRabbit's last review there left one finding open, outside the diff, on the `popstate` handler. Using deep links turned up a second case next to it, after a pane move. - **Back to a PC removed since.** When a history entry names a PC that is no longer configured, the handler took the entry's pane id and selected the missing PC, which left the pane blank. It now stays on the pane shown and shows the note a link to that PC gets ("That link's PC is not set up here"). It also writes the shown pane over the entry, so the address is true again. - **Back and Forward after a pane move.** A move gives the pane a new id (#734), and the address writer pushed that as a new history entry. An entry written before the move named the old id, so Back fell back to the old workspace's row pane, or to "That agent has closed" when the move emptied it. `lib/paneMove.ts` now records, for this tab, the ids that moves give panes. The writer uses that record to write the new id over the pane's own entry. The `popstate` handler follows an old id to the pane wherever it went. - **Forward is kept.** When Back or Forward lands somewhere other than the place its entry named, the writer replaced nothing and pushed a new entry, which cut off every entry after it. That place is now written over the entry. No new UI strings, and nothing changes for an entry that lands where it says. ## Validation - `bun run check fast`: generated types, typecheck, build and unit tests pass. The unit tests include new `paneMovedTo` tests covering a chain of moves, another PC, an id kept by the move, and a cycle. - `bun run check browser`: all scripts pass. `scripts/deep-link-demo-regression.ts` has two new checks: - A pane moved into another workspace keeps its history entry. Back and Back again reach the entry from before the move, which opens the pane under its new id. Forward and Forward again walk back, and `history.length` is unchanged throughout. - Back to an entry for a PC that is not set up stays on the pane, shows the note, takes `machine` off the address, and keeps the Forward entry. - With the `App.tsx` change reverted, the move check fails ("the moved pane's new id is written over its entry"). 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) https://claude.ai/code/session_018AND7SgU9fTx9Qb6DPqnAs --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: Hako <devswha@gmail.com>
Change
herdr can move a pane to another tab, a new tab or another workspace (
pane.move), and the web had no way to do it. This adds Move pane to… to the tab strip's tab menu and the sidebar's workspace row menu. The item opens the same row menu again under the same button (a popover on a desktop, the bottom sheet on a phone) listing New tab, the workspace's other tabs, every other workspace (the pane lands in a new tab there) and New workspace. A pick posts once to the newPOST /api/pane/move.shared/protocol.ts:MovePaneRequest/MovePaneDestination(herdr'sPaneMoveDestinationwith thetypethe generated union widens to a string spelled out) andPaneMoved(=PaneMoveResult), with the route in the catalogue comment.scripts/generate-protocol-types.tsadds thePaneMoveParams/PaneMoveResultroots and the generated file is regenerated (not hand-edited).server/pane-move.ts+POST /api/pane/moveinserver/index.ts: the body is checked here (missing_pane_id,invalid_destination,invalid_focus, plus the usualinvalid_json/invalid_body) because herdr answers a malformed destination with a bareinvalid_request; atabdestination'ssplitdefaults toright;focusdefaults to false so herdr's own focus stays where it was. herdr's own refusals come back in the error envelope (pane_not_found,tab_not_found,workspace_not_found). The answer is herdr'sPaneMoveResultwhole:pane(under a newpane_idwhen the pane changed workspace),previous_pane_id,created_tab/created_workspace,closed_tab_id/closed_workspace_id,changed: false, reason: "same_tab"for a no-op. The old id's transcript cache is forgotten.paneMoveinserver/herdr/client.tsunwraps{ move_result }.server/machine-api.ts:pane/movejoins the proxy allowlist, so it works on a remote PC and through the/api/machines/local/alias.site/demo/transport.ts: the demo answers/api/pane/movewith the same bookkeeping its close/create handlers do (tabs, counts, automatic labels, layouts, focus), a new id when the pane crosses workspaces, and a running mock turn resolved to the new id.src/components/MovePaneMenu.tsx(+.css, tokens only),src/lib/paneMove.ts: the places (paneMoveTargets) and what follows a pane to its new id (carryPaneRecords: the lens, the composer draft, the terminal draft).actions.paneMovedinApp.tsxcarries them and re-selects the new id only when the moved pane was the selected one on that PC: a move made elsewhere (the TUI, another client) never moves the selection, the old id just leaves the snapshot and the existing fallback picks herdr's focus. Held queues and pending sends stay under the old id (they name a server lease), documented insrc/AGENTS.md.server/AGENTS.md/src/AGENTS.mdrows,scripts/ui-regression.tsmenu lists.Measured on herdr 0.9.3: a move inside a workspace keeps the pane id (the tab changes; an emptied tab closes), a move into another workspace or a new one gives a new id; both are covered by the contract test.
Out of scope on purpose: tab reordering (#480) and the split view (#602); the UI never exposes
split/target_pane_id/ratio(the server accepts them for API callers).Validation
