WalkthroughThe transcript parser now renders Claude informational system entries as chat notices. It cleans and caps notice text, joins and deduplicates nearby notices, and places notices based on whether an assistant turn is awaiting a tool result. ChangesClaude informational notices

…wn command
A message starting with / that Claude Code does not know is refused in
the terminal ("Unknown command: /xyz", "Args from unknown skill: ...")
and never reaches the model. Claude Code 2.1.294 records that refusal as
system/informational entries, not as the local_command entry devswha#583 reads,
and records no user turn, so the message simply vanished from the chat.
Informational entries now show as notices, their terminal codes
stripped; lines written within a second of each other join into one.
The same entries carry "Usage limit reached / reset", which show too.
Lines joined into one informational notice could together pass the 4000-character cap each line keeps. The cap now applies after joining.

Claude Code writes informational entries mid-turn too (a message another session held or let expire, a stopped response): 32 of the 62 in this machine's transcripts. As a turn of its own, such a notice split the agent's turn in two, and while a tool ran the notice was the last turn, so the chat titled the running work as finished. A notice written while the agent's last entry called a tool now goes before that turn. One written after an answer stays after it. The same refusal recorded both as a local_command answer and as an informational entry, written together, shows once. Both kinds share one cap.
…d a notice A notice written while the agent works goes before the turn only when the turn is known to be at work. That was read from stop_reason alone, so an entry that calls a tool and names no stop reason let the notice split the turn. A tool_use block with no stop reason counts as at work. Found by the Codex review of this PR.
…nt works A notice written while the agent works goes before its turn, but a command's answer still looked only at the last turn: next to such a notice it missed its twin, showed the refusal twice and split the turn. Both kinds are now placed, and compared, at the same spot. Found by the Codex review of this PR.

Thanks for this, @Yoonwoo-Ha — the bug is real and the write-up made it easy to confirm: on I pushed a few commits on top so it can go in as it is (nothing needed from you):
Checked with Known and left as they are (low, not seen in real transcripts):

Independent review of dddbac9 (lead session; the contributor wrote b914248 and 1076e0d, lane ext-600 wrote 8d8538d, 29aa629 and c0503bf).
Verdict: approve. The bug is real: a refused /command left nothing in the chat. Thanks, @Yoonwoo-Ha.
What I ran, in a scratch copy of dddbac9 (bun test ./server/conversation.test.ts):
server/conversation.ts from |
Result |
|---|---|
| this head | 58 pass, 0 fail |
| main | 6 fail: all six new cases |
| c3d2ef0 (the contributor's change with main merged, before the lane's commits) | 4 fail: the two "keeps a turn whole" cases and the two "recorded both ways shows once" cases |
Read:
- An
informationalentry becomes the same notice part as #583'slocal_commandanswer, through the same escape scanner and one shared cap (capNotice), so the two kinds cannot drift apart. - A notice written while the agent's last entry called a tool goes before that turn instead of ending it, so a running turn stays the last one and is not titled as finished. An entry with no
stop_reasonthat calls a tool counts as still at work. - The same refusal recorded as both kinds within a second shows once; an entry with no readable time is never joined or dropped.
- This is transcript parsing only: nothing here sends keys or text to a pane.
The two Lows in the lane's comment are fine as they are. Both required checks and CodeRabbit are green on dddbac9, with no open threads.
Release v0.4.2 from `main` at cc9701c. Stop before merge: the maintainer merges and runs the release. ## What's in it - Version 0.4.2 in `package.json` and `herdr-plugin.toml`. - CHANGELOG: `## [Unreleased]` cut into `## [0.4.2] - 2026-10-09`, compare links updated, the two #598 entries given their PR link. Outside contributors are credited as GitHub lists them as authors. - `release-summaries.json`: 0.4.2 patch notes in en/ko/ja/zh (new 5, improved 5, fixed 4). - `REMOTE_BUNDLE_VERSION` raised to `"22"`: the remote-PC bundle ships `server/`, `shared/` and `dist/` (`scripts/build-remote-bundle.ts`), and all three changed since remote-v21 (#543, #438, #599, #600, #601, #605 and others). A `remote-v22` tag is needed on the merge commit before the release. ## PRs since v0.4.1 #598, #524, #599, #603, #600, #601, #605, #438, #610, #607, #543 ## Whole-release review Codex astra (gpt-6-astra) over `v0.4.1..cc9701c`, looking for cross-PR problems: **no release blocker**. One Medium, verified by reading the code and left as a follow-up: in an OpenCode chat, "Show the whole output" fetched while a tool is still running can keep the older text if the tool later rewrites its output, because the output reference carries no revision. It affects only what is displayed until the row remounts; the fix needs a new protocol field, so it is out of scope for a release PR. ## Checks - `bun run check fast`: green locally (1928 pass, 6 skip, 0 fail; typecheck, build, generated types). - `server/release-notes.test.ts` and `scripts/release-notes.test.ts`: 27 pass; `bun scripts/release-notes.ts 0.4.2` renders the notes.

A chat message that starts with
