Summary

Seven new prerendered pages, each with its own layout. DebateOwl leads every page on the jobs the app actually does: a case you can read out, "If they say X, we answer Y" replies, timed practice rounds, the free tools, and $5/month after a 3-day trial. Competitor rows keep a short "best for" line and only facts that were still on their own sites on 29 October 2026.

  • /debateowl-vs-debate-ladder — checklist
  • /free-vs-paid-ai-debate-tools — price table, DebateOwl in the first row
  • /chatgpt-vs-claude-for-debate — three columns, DebateOwl first, plus a prompt pack
  • /ai-debate-tools-for-teachers — five classroom scenarios
  • /how-to-prepare-for-a-debate-with-ai — seven steps, worked second speech, HowTo schema
  • /best-ai-for-public-forum — speech by speech
  • /hu/mi-vitafelkeszules — Hungarian Q&A, hreflang only to itself

Sitemap is 61 URLs (the previous set plus these 7). The spec's 62 assumed /best-ai-for-debate was already published. That page is still a separate draft, so these pages link to the path and check-site allows it until the file exists. No merge.

Claims changed or dropped

Checked the cited pages again on 29 October 2026. Kept a claim only when the live page still said it.

  • Openings. The spec's opening paragraphs often started with the other product or with "it depends". They now start with DebateOwl. The facts in those paragraphs are unchanged.
  • Debate Ladder. Homepage still matches: voice-first, PRO/CON, opening/rebuttal/closing, five judge criteria, Elo from 500, practice and custom unrated, 100 free credits, about one credit per minute. /pricing is still 404. Added one fact the homepage states and the spec omitted: losses lower Elo.
  • ChatGPT. Free version is still "available to everyone". Go, Plus and Pro are on the page; the FAQ also names Business and Enterprise. Dollar prices were still not shown, so none are printed. Study mode and voice are on the free plan.
  • Claude. Free $0, Pro $20/month or $17/month annual, Max from $100, free plan has web search, memory and voice, context window up to 1M varying by model. Unchanged.
  • Debatable. Added the Tokens plan at $4.99/month, which was not in the spec. The "cheapest paid" answer therefore names Tokens, DebateOwl at $5/month + tax, and Symbai at NZ$4.99/month. The spec's exact sentence would have been false. Also noted a short voice preview before sign-in. Individual $10/year, Voice $12/month, BYOK $1/month, Team $50/year, schools $200/season still match.
  • Cardinal. Pro is $10/month or $75 a season, not only "from $10/month". The homepage now lists what Pro adds (practice rounds with an AI judge, a word counter, case files), so the cell is no longer "not detailed". Did not repeat the nationals-winner or rating lines.
  • HyperWrite. Premium $19.99/month and Ultra $44.99/month still match. The pricing page also shows annual prices of $16/month and $29/month.
  • ArguFight. Dropped "rounds are text-based". The homepage now offers speech-to-text. "Free to start", "free forever for base debating", and free classrooms are still in the page source. Did not use the debater or verdict counts.
  • Symbai. "Progress dashboard" softened to a dashboard with student analytics; the homepage says progress is trackable. Teacher plans still say "Try 2 Months For Free". The individual button says "Try 1 Month For Free".
  • SchoolAI. Still not called a debate tool. The pages opened do not use that word. Free Trial is 5 Space launches a year. Pro and Scale have no dollar price on the page. Compliance list matches.
  • PublicForumAI. Crossfire line kept exactly: it doesn't yet have a crossfire feature, "it's in the works". Prices, 3 free rounds, NYC high-school origin in 2024, about 35 minutes, and "not for live rounds" match.
  • Public Forum Sparring. The repo's PF Sparring runs the 4-4-3-2 speeches and a verdict. It does not insert the three crossfire periods. The page says that, and points crossfire practice at the separate Crossfire drill. The free timer does run the crossfires.
  • Kialo Edu. "Free and always will be", anonymous mode, saved discussions, and the listed LMS integrations match.
  • Camelot. One sourced line only: roles, timing, judge sheets, AI analysis from uploaded audio, Italian and English. Awards and user counts were not used.
  • Not used, as the spec said: MindDuel, DebateThis, invented ratings, user counts, "the best" / "Add Vercel Web Analytics to project #1" / "the only" as a claim about DebateOwl. The Public Forum H1 is the spec's search heading. The body says to start with DebateOwl for the case, the replies and the timed speeches.

Verify

npm run verify passed on this commit (docs, jargon, lint, typecheck, unit tests, collaboration tests, 498 edge tests, production build with check-site and check-links, service-worker check, 47 desktop @smoke tests). GitHub Actions is billing-blocked, so this is a local pass, not a CI pass.

The backend-status setup hook was exceeding the 10s default while the suite ran in parallel. Its timeout is 30s. The assertions are unchanged.
