This is milestone M2 of Docs/Proposals/2026-10-28-extension-data-source.md (option B), DB-free part. The quarantine table and its RPCs are proposed in #1608, which applies nothing.
Nothing changes for users.
The extension sends nothing new. The lookup query and the opt-in payload are pinned by tests, byte for byte.
The new web routes answer 404 until RATE_EXTENSION_OBSERVATIONS=1.
the listing host must belong to the marketplace (the platform ids are those already in use, tgdd and hoangha included);
prices are integers from 1,000 to 2,000,000,000;
stock is in_stock, low_stock, out_of_stock or unknown;
observed_at is ISO 8601 with a time zone, at most 10 minutes ahead and 24 hours old;
lengths count code points;
unpaired surrogates are refused.
Extension, read only. The extractor now reads stock and the SKU of the selected variant. Nothing new is sent.
Stock and SKU come from the selected variant's own JSON-LD offer: the only offer, or the one whose sku or name matches the selected variant. When several offers can't be told apart, neither is taken.
The SKU can also come from Lazada -s<id>.html and Tiki ?spid=.
Stock falls back to the head product meta.
buildExtensionObservationV1 maps a page to v1, cutting long variant labels to 120 characters. It is not wired to sending.
buildLookupParams now builds the lookup query, and a test pins it.
Web, behind RATE_EXTENSION_OBSERVATIONS (off). Three routes call the narrow RPCs as anon:
POST /api/v1/rate/extension/submitter creates a pseudonymous submitter id;
DELETE /api/v1/rate/extension/submitter erases an id and its observations, and answers the same whether or not the id existed;
POST /api/v1/rate/extension/observation validates with the shared rules and sends the observation.
Protections on the routes.
Writes also need RATE_EXTENSION_INGEST_KEY, which the RPCs check by sha256, so nobody can call them around these routes. They need RATE_NETWORK_HASH_SALT too. Without both, the answer is 503 before the database.
Only an HMAC of the /24 (IPv4) or /48 (IPv6) reaches the database, never the raw IP. An unusable address shares one "unknown" bucket.
Web page origins get 403, and CORS headers go only to extension origins. Bodies must be JSON.
The error codes are fixed, and no database message is passed on.
RATE_EXTENSION_INGEST_KEY and RATE_NETWORK_HASH_SALT set on Vercel.
A daily purge job.
The extension switched to v1 for opted-in installs. The disclosures must then name the submitter id, the network hash, the SKU and the stock (opt-in text, consent page, privacy policy, store doc).
Tests
shared-data: the v1 validator, with every rule and edge case.
extension:
stock and SKU mappings, and a whole page with one offer and with several;
the v1 builder;
the sanitizer;
the pinned lookup query and opt-in payload.
web write-paths:
with the flag off: 404 and zero calls, preflight included;
without the salt or the key: 503 and zero calls;
403 for a web page origin, 415 for a body that is not JSON, CORS for an extension origin;
the RPC arguments (key, hash, never the raw IP, never the service key);
every error mapping, with Retry-After 3600;
the network-range edge cases.
pnpm test, tsc, eslint and the extension build pass locally.
Review
Two fresh-context Claude reviews were run on the code: routes and privacy, and the extractor with the guarantee that nothing new is sent. Two more were run on #1608. Nothing in the code was blocking. The shared design gap (anyone could call the RPCs with the anon key) is fixed by the ingest key, in this PR and in #1608.
This PR introduces the ExtensionObservation v1 data pipeline (#1606), enabling the browser extension to extract granular product signals (stock state, SKU, extractor source) and submit them to a new, privacy-preserving quarantine API. It also refactors the extension's lookup parameter construction into a dedicated security guard function.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Product details detected by the browser extension can now include stock availability, stock quantity, and SKU when that information is available.
Added support for registering and removing extension submitters and submitting validated product observations.
Stock and product details can reflect the selected variant when matching offer information is available.
Improvements
Product data is checked and normalized before it is used in lookup requests or submitted as an observation.
Observation submissions now receive clearer responses for unavailable services, invalid data, and request limits.
Observation requests are restricted to supported marketplace listings and use hashed network information rather than raw IP addresses.
… ingest
- shared-data: ExtensionObservation v1 in rules, plain functions with no
zod. The parser names the first broken field the way the DOS-Me RPC
does in DETAIL. No ratings, all keys required, listing host must match
the marketplace, and observed_at must be within the last 24 hours (up
to 10 minutes ahead).
- Extension: the extractor reads stock state and quantity (JSON-LD
availability and inventoryLevel, product meta) and the SKU (Lazada and
Tiki URLs, JSON-LD sku). buildExtensionObservationV1 maps a signal to
v1. Nothing new is sent: the lookup and the opt-in payload are
unchanged, and a test pins that.
- Web: POST and DELETE /api/v1/rate/extension/submitter and POST
/api/v1/rate/extension/observation call the narrow M2 RPCs as anon.
They answer 404 NOT_ENABLED unless RATE_EXTENSION_OBSERVATIONS=1, and
observations also need RATE_NETWORK_HASH_SALT. Only an HMAC of the /24
or /48 reaches the database, never the raw IP.

Web:
- The RPCs now take RATE_EXTENSION_INGEST_KEY (checked by sha256 in the
database), so nobody can call them around these routes with the anon
key. Writes need the key and the salt, else 503 before the database.
- Register sends the network hash too. An address with no range hashes
to one shared "unknown" bucket instead of skipping the limit.
IPv4-mapped IPv6 maps to its /24.
- Web page origins are refused (403); CORS goes only to extension
origins; bodies must be application/json (415). OPTIONS is 404 while
off. RPC refusals log their code; 54000 answers Retry-After 3600;
42501 is a 503.
Shared rules: listing_url and observed_at follow the RPC exactly (raw
https prefix, lowercase host, no port, user, ';' or space; ISO 8601
with a zone, offsets as the RPC takes them); lengths count code points;
unpaired surrogates are refused.
Extension:
- Stock and SKU come from the selected variant's own offer: the only
offer, or the one whose sku or name matches the selected variant;
never another variant's or the parent's when several exist. The meta
fallback reads head meta only.
- Availability: schema: prefixes, arrays, Reserved and pre-order forms.
A quantity is kept only when it agrees with the state.
- extractorSource follows price, list price and stock. A long variant
label is cut to 120 for v1. skuId uses the external id sanitizer.
- buildLookupParams carries the lookup query; tests pin the exact
lookup query and opt-in payload, and cover a page end to end.

The PR adds shared v1 validation, extension stock and SKU extraction, and web routes behind RATE_EXTENSION_OBSERVATIONS (off by default). Those are the main changes. The title is long at 76 characters, and 'flagged ingest' is terse, but the title is clearly related to the changeset.

Add the TGDD sister hosts to the observation host list.
The tgdd entry in EXTENSION_MARKETPLACE_HOSTS lists only thegioididong.com. detectEcommercePlatform also maps topzone.vn and dienmayxanh.com to tgdd. A valid topzone.vn or dienmayxanh.com listing therefore fails the host check, and buildExtensionObservationV1 returns null for it. Add those hosts so the observation builder accepts the same listings the detector accepts.

apps/web/src/server/rate/extension-observations.ts:56-58 Minor · Security & Privacy · Quick win
Null-Origin requests reach the submitter registration limiter without a JSON or body check.
isWebPageOrigin refuses only http:// and https:// origins. A request with Origin: null, such as a form POST from a sandboxed iframe, passes this check. The submitter route then does not check Content-Type and does not read a body. It calls registerLimiter.allow(clientIp) before the RPC. A page that the visitor opens can therefore spend the registration allowance for the visitor's network. Legitimate registrations from that network can then be rate-limited.

Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
The first JSON-LD Product permanently supplies productOffers, even if it has no offers. A later Product can supply the price under the existing price fallback while its offers are never used for stock or SKU.
The resulting signal combines the later Product's price with unknown stock and a missing SKU.
This can occur when: A page's first Product node has no offers and a subsequent Product node has a priced, in-stock offer.
Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
networkHashFor deliberately assigns every unparseable client address the same unknown hash. If the deployment does not provide an IP in the form expected by extractClientRateLimitKey, unrelated users share the RPC's per-network limits.
Activity by some users can exhaust registration or observation allowance for all other users in the shared bucket.
This can occur when: Production requests reach the routes without a usable forwarded client-IP header.

Match the selected variant by whole token in pickVariantOffer.
The substring check matches 12GB inside the selected 512GB. If the selected variant's own offer is missing from the structured data and one other offer matches, that wrong offer's stock and SKU are returned. Use a token-boundary match, and add a test for this case.

Map hexadecimal IPv4-mapped addresses to their IPv4 /24.
networkPrefixOf parses only the dotted ::ffff:a.b.c.d form. A hexadecimal form such as ::ffff:cb00:714d falls through to the IPv6 branch and yields 0:0:0::/48. Every hexadecimal IPv4-mapped address then gets the same network hash, so unrelated IPv4 networks share one per-network limit bucket. Convert the two hexadecimal groups to dotted IPv4 before the /24 step.

This is milestone M2 of
Docs/Proposals/2026-10-28-extension-data-source.md(option B), DB-free part. The quarantine table and its RPCs are proposed in #1608, which applies nothing.Nothing changes for users.
RATE_EXTENSION_OBSERVATIONS=1.What changes
ExtensionObservation v1(packages/shared-data/src/rules/extension-observation.ts). Plain functions with no zod, so the extension can import them. The validator mirrors the RPC in docs(proposals): dos-me extension observation quarantine (m2) #1608:tgddandhoanghaincluded);-s<id>.htmland Tiki?spid=.buildExtensionObservationV1maps a page to v1, cutting long variant labels to 120 characters. It is not wired to sending.buildLookupParamsnow builds the lookup query, and a test pins it.RATE_EXTENSION_OBSERVATIONS(off). Three routes call the narrow RPCs as anon:POST /api/v1/rate/extension/submittercreates a pseudonymous submitter id;DELETE /api/v1/rate/extension/submittererases an id and its observations, and answers the same whether or not the id existed;POST /api/v1/rate/extension/observationvalidates with the shared rules and sends the observation.RATE_EXTENSION_INGEST_KEY, which the RPCs check by sha256, so nobody can call them around these routes. They needRATE_NETWORK_HASH_SALTtoo. Without both, the answer is 503 before the database.Before the flag can go on (not in this PR)

Also fixed in d19083a:
Left as a follow-up: the extension's service worker bundles zod through
@repo/shared-data's root entry. That predates this PR (#278).Codex not run.

📌 TL;DR
This PR introduces the ExtensionObservation v1 data pipeline (#1606), enabling the browser extension to extract granular product signals (stock state, SKU, extractor source) and submit them to a new, privacy-preserving quarantine API. It also refactors the extension's lookup parameter construction into a dedicated security guard function.
