Update autoload in wp option update when the value is unchanged - #689
wp option update <key> <value> --autoload=<autoload> fails when the value is the same as the stored one:
$ wp option add foo bar --autoload=on
$ wp option update foo bar --autoload=off
Error: Could not update option 'foo'.
The autoload value stays unchanged. Core's update_option() returns false when the value has not changed, even if a new $autoload is passed, so the command reports an error. Changing the value and the autoload together works.
When the value is unchanged and --autoload is given, the command now calls the existing set_autoload() logic (the one behind wp option set-autoload), so the output is Success: Updated autoload value for 'foo' option., or the "unchanged" message if autoload already matches. It stores the same value update_option() would: yes/no before WordPress 6.6 (which only autoloads yes) and on/off from 6.6. Every other path stays the same.
Testing
Adds two scenarios to features/option.feature, next to the existing "Update autoload value for custom option" ones, one for WordPress before 6.6 and one for 6.6+. Each one updates an option with its current value and each of on, off, yes and no, then checks the stored value with wp option get-autoload.
Without the fix, both scenarios fail with Error: Could not update option 'hello'. (WordPress 7.1.4 and 6.5, MySQL 8.4).
With the fix, features/option.feature, features/option-set-autoload.feature and features/option-get-autoload.feature pass on WordPress 7.1.4 and 6.5, on MySQL 8.4 and SQLite.
PHPCS passes on src/Option_Command.php. The linter and Gherkin lint pass.
AI assistance: I used Claude Code to find this and write the change; I reviewed and ran everything myself.

Bug Fixes
Updating an option now applies a valid autoload setting even when the option’s value is unchanged. The command continues to report the value as unchanged when neither the value nor the autoload setting changes.
Autoload setting changes are verified across WordPress versions, including the different setting values used before and from WordPress 6.6 onward. Supported values are normalized and reported according to the WordPress version.
