The issue
Common Components used or hosted in a VB-Project are updated when the public version (represented by the corresponding Export-File in the Common-Components folder) is more up-to-date. I.e. when the code differs and the last-modified-date-time is greater than the one of the used/hosted Common Component maintained in the CompMan.dat file in the parent folder of the serviced Workbook.

Conclusion
Replacing the code is possible for all component types except UserForms *)
*) In fact, direct code replace may be used, provided the design (the .frx file) has not changed. Since comparing .frx files is a specific challenge, delete and re-import is the best joice for UserForms.
