Summary

Closes recurring documentation gaps surfaced by assistant query buckets, with all facts verified against the Bruno source code.

Changes

  • AI integration overview: new "MCP support" section stating Bruno has no MCP server/client and explaining the instruction-file approach (top recurring unanswered question).
  • gRPC overview: new "Automation limitations" section covering that the Collection Runner, CLI, and bru.runRequest() skip gRPC requests.
  • Mock servers overview: new "Scope and limitations" section (app-only, local-only, no export; definitions stored as .yml files in the workspace mocks folder).
  • OpenCollection YAML structure reference: documented the opencollection.yml root file structure, a bruno.jsonopencollection.yml mapping table, and environment .yml file format.
  • Whitelisting modules: note that moduleWhitelist/filesystemAccess are bruno.json-only with no YAML equivalent.
  • Settings: note that the app interface is English-only with no language setting.

Context

Triggered by a scheduled review of docs assistant conversations (2026-08-24 to 2026-08-31). Themes: MCP support, gRPC automation/scripting, mock server export/CLI/deployment, opencollection.yml structure, and changing the UI language.
