Fixes #68
/claim #68

Summary

Adds the @tryabby/vue integration package in packages/vue consuming @tryabby/core with full TypeScript parity with @tryabby/react:

  • createAbby: Initializes @tryabby/core with cookie-backed TestStorageService, FlagStorageService, and RemoteConfigStorageService (SSR/Nuxt-safe when window is undefined).
  • Composables & Provider:
    • useAbby(name, lookupObject?): Returns { variant, onAct } with narrowed variant/lookup types and dispatches PING and ACT events.
    • useFeatureFlag(name) & useFeatureFlags(): Reactive feature flag accessors.
    • useRemoteConfig(name) & useRemoteConfigVariables(): Reactive remote config accessors with RemoteConfigValueStringToType type mapping.
    • AbbyProvider component and Vue install plugin method, plus getFeatureFlagValue, getRemoteConfig, getABTestValue, getABResetFunction, getVariants, updateUserProperties, and withDevtools.
  • Tests: Added runtime and expectTypeOf tests in packages/vue/tests/useAbby.test.ts.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added Vue 3 support for A/B testing, feature flags, and remote configuration.
    • Added reactive composables for accessing test variants, flags, and configuration values, with app-level providers and shared project data.
    • Added variant selection, action tracking, user-property updates, and development tools integration.
    • Added browser cookie storage for tests, flags, and remote configuration.
  • Tests
    • Added coverage for Vue integration, variant selection, action events, and configuration values.

  • tryabby/abby#200: Adds the same Vue package and implements its composables, storage services, provider, and tests.

  • tryabby/abby#202: Implements the same Vue integration with composables, provider, and a different createAbby API shape.
Merge Risk: Moderate · previous review 6601b

The new Vue package's runtime tests are not actually executed under the current Vitest configuration, so regressions would pass unnoticed. Fix the test selection before merging. A narrow stale-state case in the provider should also be fixed.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #68 is open and directly linked. packages/vue/package.json names @tryabby/vue and declares @tryabby/core. packages/vue/src/context.ts provides TypeScript createAbby, useAbby, useFeatureFlag, and useRemoteConfig; useAbby returns variant and onAct. packages/vue/tests/useAbby.test.ts covers runtime behavior and expectTypeOf checks for variants, flags, and remote-config values.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes support the Vue integration requested by issue #68. Storage services, SSR-safe initialization, provider and plugin support, reactive accessors, utility APIs, devtools support, and tests implement the stated integration and React-like parity. No unrelated change is demonstrated.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 0.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 1 functions across 9 files. (2 skipped: 2 unsupported.)

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

Inline comments:
Review comments at @packages/vue/package.json:
- Line 35: Move @tryabby/devtools from devDependencies to dependencies in the
Vue package manifest so consumers can resolve types exposed by
withDevtoolsFunction from the published package.

Review comments at @packages/vue/src/context.ts:
- Line 89: Update the adapter callback that calls TestStorageService.set to
forward the configured cookie expiration as its third argument, so
cookies.expiresInDays reaches the storage service instead of using its default.
- Line 212: Update the computed lookups in useFeatureFlag and useRemoteConfig to
use the core fallback lookup methods instead of directly dereferencing entries
that may be absent, while keeping both values reactive and honoring configured
defaults.
- Around line 143-147: Initialize selectedVariant in useAbby as an empty string
instead of reading a variant from dataRef or abby.getProjectData(); keep the
existing onMounted logic that loads the client variant and sends the ping.
- Around line 293-300: Ensure each Vue app or SSR request gets its own complete
Abby instance: update the createAbby/install flow so apps with different
initialData do not share an Abby instance or its subscribers. A separate
sharedState ref is insufficient because abby.init() mutates the instance;
preserve this instance isolation for React providers created from the same
factory result as well.

Review comments at @packages/vue/tests/useAbby.test.ts:
- Line 68: Update the test around useAbby so it invokes the composable from a
rendered test component’s setup function, rather than directly in the test body;
retain the existing variant type assertions against the value captured from
setup.

# rollup-plugin-dts

This is a plugin that lets you roll-up your `.d.ts` definition files.

## Usage

Install the package from `npm`:

    `$ npm install --save-dev rollup-plugin-dts
    `

Add it to your `rollup.config.js`:

    import { dts } from "rollup-plugin-dts";

    const config = [
      // …
      {
        input: "./my-input/index.d.ts",
        output: [{ file: "dist/my-library.d.ts", format: "es" }],
        plugins: [dts()],
      },
    ];

    export default config;

NOTE A default import of the plugin using `import dts from "rollup-plugin-dts";` is still supported for existing implementations of this package. However, a named import is suggested to avoid the error `[!] TypeError: dts is not a function`^{1}^{2} in certain rollup config file implementations.

And then instruct typescript where to find your definitions inside your `package.json`:

      "types": "dist/my-library.d.ts",

NOTE that the plugin will automatically mark any external library (`@types` for example) as `external`, so those will be excluded from bundling.

## Options

    plugins: [dts({
      // Enable detailed sourcemaps for Go-to-Definition support.
      // When true: loads .d.ts.map files and captures TypeScript's declarationMap
      // for .ts inputs, enabling navigation to original source files.
      // NOTE: Also requires `output.sourcemap: true` in your Rollup config.
      sourcemap: true,

      // Path to tsconfig.json (default: finds nearest tsconfig.json)
      tsconfig: "./tsconfig.json",

      // TypeScript compiler options (e.g., for path mapping)
      compilerOptions: { baseUrl: ".", paths: { "~/*": ["src/*"] } },

      // Don't auto-externalize node_modules (default: false)
      respectExternal: true,

      // Bundle types from specific external packages (default: [])
      includeExternal: ["some-package"],
    })]

<excerpt>citeturn0search1 [wordlim: 200] Crawled: 2 months ago; 1. rollup-plugin-dts ... For each export (`class`, `function`, `interface` or `type`), we will create a bogus `FunctionDeclaration` for rollup. ... Instead of remapping, we use Rollup's sparse map as "anchors" to find which source line each output line came from, then copy the detailed segments from the input map: ... TypeScript emits external map references, but we pass the map directly via `inputMapText`.

We defer sourcemap processing to `generateBundle` rather than `transform`. Even if we composed maps in `transform`, Rollup's bundling would still produce a sparse output map. Plus, `options.sourcemap` is an output option—not available in `transform`. By deferring, we also skip loading input sourcemaps entirely when sourcemaps are disabled.

### Input paths

When `dts({ sourcemap: true })` is set, the plugin handles two input types:

  * `.d.ts` files: External `.d.ts.map` files are loaded from disk
  * `.ts` files: TypeScript's in-memory declaration map is captured during `program.emit()`

Without this option, sourcemaps remain sparse (basic line-level mappings from MagicString).

For `.ts` inputs, we strip `//# sourceMappingURL` comments from emitted declarations. TypeScript emits external map references, but we pass the map directly via `inputMapText`. Without stripping, Rollup would double-process the sourcemap.

### Implementation quirks

sourcesContent rejection: tsserver rejects sourcemaps containing `sourcesContent`, silently falling back to no mapping:

    if (map.sourcesContent && map.sourcesContent.some(isString)) return undefined;

We strip `sourcesContent` entirely from output maps to stay compatible.

URL sourceRoot: TypeScript's `sourceRoot` can be a URL like `https://github.com/org/repo/blob/main/src/`. We detect URLs via the `://` pattern (not just `:`, which would match Windows drive letters) and use the `URL` constructor for proper path resolution—`new URL("../../src/index.ts", "https://example.com/dist/types/")` correctly produces `https://example.com/src/index.ts`.

### Libraries

  * `convert-source-map` — loads input sourcemaps (inline base64, URL-encoded, file references)
  * `@jridgewell/sourcemap-codec` — decodes/encodes VLQ mappings
  * `@jridgewell/remapping` — composes sourcemaps for multi-source cases

You can’t perform that action at this time.</excerpt>

Publish @tryabby/devtools with the Vue package.

withDevtoolsFunction exposes types from @tryabby/devtools. tsup leaves external library types out of the bundled declaration, but @tryabby/devtools is only a devDependency. TypeScript consumers can therefore fail to resolve the published declaration.

Move @tryabby/devtools from devDependencies to dependencies in the Vue package
manifest so consumers can resolve types exposed by withDevtoolsFunction from the
published package.

Scope the complete Abby instance per app or request.

When the same createAbby result is installed in multiple Vue apps with different initialData, the later install call replaces the shared state observed by earlier apps. This can affect SSR when one factory result is reused across requests.

A separate Vue ref alone does not fix this. abby.init() mutates the shared Abby instance and notifies every subscriber. Create a separate createAbby result for each app or request, or otherwise make the Abby instance request-scoped.

React has the same underlying issue. Its provider state is local, but providers created from one factory result subscribe to the same Abby instance.

Review comment at @packages/vue/src/context.ts around lines 293 - 300:
Ensure each Vue app or SSR request gets its own complete Abby instance: update
the createAbby/install flow so apps with different initialData do not share an
Abby instance or its subscribers. A separate sharedState ref is insufficient
because abby.init() mutates the instance; preserve this instance isolation for
React providers created from the same factory result as well.

Call the composables inside component setup.

This test calls useAbby without an active Vue component. inject then returns undefined, and useAbby throws when it reads dataRef.value. The package test run fails before the type assertions. Render a test component and call the composables in its setup function. (github.com)

Review comment at @packages/vue/tests/useAbby.test.ts at line 68:
Update the test around useAbby so it invokes the composable from a rendered test
component’s setup function, rather than directly in the test body; retain the
existing variant type assertions against the value captured from setup.

Run the inference assertions through a typechecker.

The package test script runs vitest without typechecking, and the Vitest configuration does not enable typechecking. The type-test requirement is therefore not fulfilled. Add a typecheck command that includes packages/vue/tests/useAbby.test.ts in the package validation workflow.

remains selected for runtime testing rather than being captured by
`typecheck.include`. With the declared Vitest 2.0.5 version, move type
assertions into a separate type-test file and target that file, or use a Vitest
version that supports overlapping runtime and type-test patterns.
