Follow-up to #5271, which was merged before this commit was pushed.

Problem

In run 39600096876 attempt 1 failed with a Sigstore 409. Attempts 2-5 then failed immediately with EUNCOMMIT Working tree has uncommitted changes: lerna rewrites package.json files while publishing and does not restore them on failure, then refuses to run on a dirty tree. The retries never reached npm.

Changes

  • Run git checkout -- . after each failed attempt so retries start from a clean tree.
  • Commit the provenance: false override locally (CI only, not pushed) before the fallback publish, since the edit would otherwise trigger the same EUNCOMMIT.

Notes

Untested in CI. Re-run the release after merging; from-package publishes only missing packages.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

lerna leaves rewritten package.json files behind when publishing fails and then aborts the next
attempt with EUNCOMMIT. Restore the tree before each retry and commit the provenance override
locally before the fallback publish.
