Summary

This PR adds two entries to docs/upstream-sync/UPSTREAM.md. It does not reformat the file, which .oxfmtignore lists, and no other file changes.

v0.55.1 RELEASED: #330 shipped

• chore: release 0.55.1 #331 merged as 44fd8af, and tag v0.55.1 was cut at that exact commit.
• Release run 39754559422 passed all twelve jobs. The push was delivered this time, and the exact-SHA CI gate passed over main CI run 39754559497.
• The downloaded release passed the black-box acceptance:
  • The six archives match SHA256SUMS, and every attestation names the run.
  • The binary reports codegraph 0.55.1, built with rustc 1.98.0.
  • On indexes built by v0.54.0 and v0.53.0, a cold session's daemon upgrades the index with no manual sync, and so does a replacement daemon. After the upgrade, a write reaches the index, and the index exports byte-identical to a fresh init.
  • The same scripts fail against v0.55.0.

The daemon upgrades an index an older extraction version built

This entry records #330's fix for the known issue in the v0.55.0 entry. It covers:

• the guards that keep a daemon from rebuilding an older uninit --force, an interrupted older build, or a namespace without its database;
• why a failed upgrade stops the daemon before its startup gate.

It also records an issue older than this release that #330 leaves alone: codegraph sync migrates every outdated namespace, including an older uninit's leftovers.

Testing

• python3 scripts/docs-check.py passes.
• The pre-push make pre-ci passed: 236 test groups ok, none failed.
