Summary

One pass over the whole template covering the ten requested items: a design review with fixes, all placeholder copy rewritten, the two slider pages merged into one, an about page redesign with generated artwork, a grayscale journal, a people-free works grid, and a typography tidy (600 instead of 700, tight tracking everywhere, spacing on the architecture titles).

Home page

Content (items 2, 9, 10)

  • New placeholder studio, Ombra, replaces Bernd everywhere: wordmark, taglines, footer, contact details, titles, meta descriptions and Open Graph tags. The footer keeps the Typebig credit as "Template by Typebig".
  • Every project title, category, description, shop item, client and journal entry is new. No project is named after a person.
  • Journal: ten new entries dated 2026 with short excerpts, a new lead article on single-blog.html, and all ten thumbnails desaturated in place of the turquoise plates. The first image (the laurel logo) is replaced with a generated grayscale photograph.
  • Works grid: the eight photographs of people (Jennifer Evans, Walker Brothers, Ronald Roberts, Sandra, Martinez, Doomed, Olympics 2016, Vintage Lifestyle) are replaced with generated still lifes in the same black-stage style. Slide 5 of the carousel, also a portrait, is replaced the same way.

Pages (items 3, 4, 8)

  • index-with-flexslider.html is removed and index-with-iosslider.html becomes index-with-slider.html. The labelled-strip CSS and the four flexslider images go with it. The page gets new copy, a desk lamp illustration in place of the glasses, and a "What we do" strip under the journal and about boxes.
  • about.html is rebuilt: an intro with a facts row, four new line illustrations (drafting tools, camera, laptop and phone, cards and stamp), a people section with four pencil portraits, and a closing call to action.

About page in dark mode

Generated artwork

All new artwork was produced with the OpenAI Images API, model gpt-image-2.5-flare. Line art and portraits: quality: low, background: transparent, monochrome black ink. Photographs: quality: medium. Each was trimmed, fitted to the original canvas size and encoded to AVIF and WebP with sharp, so the markup test's sibling check still passes.

The portraits are tonal pencil drawings and cannot take .invert-on-dark (a negative of a face is not a face), so each sits on a light disc, a new --color-plate token that stays light in both themes. README documents this.

Typography (items 5, 6, 7)

  • No 700 anywhere: every font-weight: bold becomes 600. The 800 wordmark is the one heavier weight, kept because it is the logo.
  • Form controls now inherit letter-spacing (Chromium's UA sheet resets it to normal on inputs and buttons), and the two tracked-out uppercase treatments (pagination links, project sidebar labels) become tight sentence case. Every piece of Inter text is now tracked slightly tight.
  • Architecture grids: #works .item picture + h3 gets 16px of top margin on both the two- and three-column pages.
  • The wordmark is sized at 25cqw so that a five-letter name plus the ring fills its column at every width; README explains how to adjust it for other names.

Review fixes (item 1)

  • Selects on the shop item page used the UA grey while the quantity input was white. All fields now share --color-bg.
  • "Add to cart" was an anchor with href="#". It is now a submit button for the options form.
  • The contact box lets long emails and URLs wrap so a half-width phone column cannot overflow.

Two further suggestions were mocked up but left out of this PR (screenshots in the session): aligning the header tagline to the base of the wordmark, and desaturating the turquoise plates on the illustration project page to match the journal.

Verification

  • markup, headers, behavior, a11y (68 checks, zero axe violations) and render (272 checks, eight widths, both themes) all pass locally against the branch.
  • tests/behavior.mjs now targets index-with-slider.html.
  • README page counts, wordmark example, slider notes and the image licence paragraph are updated; docs/screenshots/*.jpg regenerated at the same sizes.

Content
- New placeholder studio, "Ombra", replaces Bernd throughout: wordmark,
taglines, footer, contact details, meta and Open Graph tags.
- Every project title, category, description, shop item, journal entry
and client name is rewritten. No project is named after a person.
- Journal: ten new entries with short excerpts and dated 2026, a new
lead article, and all ten images desaturated in place of turquoise.
- Works grid: the eight photographs of people are replaced with
generated still lifes in the same black-stage style.

Pages
- index-with-flexslider.html is removed and index-with-iosslider.html
becomes index-with-slider.html; the labelled-strip CSS and the four
flexslider images go with it. The page gets new copy, a lamp
illustration in place of the glasses, and a services strip.
- about.html is rebuilt: a facts row, four new line illustrations,
a people section with four pencil portraits on light discs, and a
closing call to action. All new artwork was generated with
gpt-image-2.5 at low quality with a transparent background.

Typography
- No 700 anywhere: every bold becomes 600 (the 800 wordmark stays).
- Form controls inherit the tightened letter-spacing; the tracked-out
uppercase labels (pagination, project sidebar) become tight sentence
case, so all Inter text is tracked slightly tight.
- Architecture grids get 16px above the title under each photo.
- The wordmark is sized at 25cqw so a five-letter name fits its column.

Fixes found in review
- Selects now share the field background instead of the UA grey.
- "Add to cart" is a real submit button rather than an anchor.
- Contact details wrap in a half-width phone column.

README and docs screenshots updated; behavior test points at the
renamed slider page. All five suites pass locally.

A centred snap point cannot centre the first or last slide unless there
is room beside it, so slide one sat against the left edge with slide two
peeking in on the right at wide widths. The track now carries half the
leftover width as inline padding, giving the ends the same position as
every slide between them.

Slide width and padding are both measured in cqw against the slider
itself: a percentage would resolve against the track's content box,
which the padding shrinks. Verified centred to the pixel at 2000, 1440,
1024, 768 and 390px, with next still disabling on the last slide.
