Turning on sliding sync makes the app sync nonstop and room history disappears

After enabling Settings → Labs → Sliding sync, the Activity Log fills with "Sent sliding sync" entries (several per second), and the older messages in my rooms disappear. Only the last few messages remains.

Yes, my understanding is that sync pattern should coalesce down to a more normal frequency. I have seen that behavior too. It still doesn't feel right though. Thanks for the report!

Turning sliding sync off and restarting does not seem to load the previous history that is not displayed.

Also, looking at the code, the sliding sync endpoint is called by sending the pos and timeout fields in a JSON body, which is indeed what the MSC for sliding sync is writing. But the current server implementations (for example I'm running continuwuity) expects these as query parameters on the unstable org.matrix.simplified_msc3575 endpoint. This might be an issue as well.

Sadly I'm not really good with Swift nor I understand the whole Matrix protocol, so I'm a bit afraid to contribute using AI only without me understanding 100% what's happening:D
