A charging session on v3.5.3-beta.1 ended before the car reached its charge limit. The owner reported 78%; FTW had a recurring 80% goal. No vehicle driver supplied fresh SoC.
The saved planner snapshot just before the stop used 59,950.62 Wh as initial energy and 60,000 Wh as target for a 75 kWh car. The snapshot after the stop used 60,008.01 Wh as initial energy and planned zero further charging. That is 80.01% estimated SoC, not a reading from the car. The charger stopped at 03:36 UTC, before the 05:00 UTC deadline.
Core currently treats the estimate as sufficient to stop both scheduled charging and a targeted Charge now hold. A charge-to-vehicle-limit goal needs distinct completion evidence. Preserve explicit percentage goals, but support a persistent goal to finish at the car's own limit. Use fresh vehicle limits for planning when available; when unavailable, state the uncertainty and keep offering safe current through final completion. A passed deadline, restart, stale vehicle data or a brief charger handshake must not erase an unfinished goal. An explicit Stop, site/charger freshness failure and fuse limits still win.
Required regression cases: estimated 80% while actual car is 78%; no vehicle connection; fresh and stale vehicle readings; charger taper; sustained vehicle refusal; a safety pause mistaken for completion; restart; unplug and a new session; a missed deadline; an explicit lower percentage goal; explicit Stop.
The saved snapshots explain the zero-energy plan. No connected-car validation of a fix has run yet.
