Cython C++ extension wrapping the hunspell spell-checking library (import name hunspell). Upstream publishes no riscv64 wheel, and no Linux wheel of any kind since 2.0.0 (its last four releases ship only Windows/macOS/x86_64 bdist_wheels, with no sdist on PyPI at all).

Mirrors upstream's own setup.py/build_hunspell.py, which downloads and compiles hunspell 1.7.0 with autoreconf/configure/make on every build; the repo ships no CI workflow of its own.

Differs from upstream

  • Added dnf install -y gettext - hunspell's configure.ac needs AM_GNU_GETTEXT's m4 macros/autopoint, absent from the image.

Testing

  • CIBW_TEST_SOURCES stages only tests and hunspell/dictionaries (no __init__.py), so the suite's relative dictionary lookup works without shadowing the installed wheel.

License: Wheel bundles hunspell (LGPL-2.1-only, per its own HUNSPELL_LICENSE_LESSER); the binding itself is MIT.

Built on cp312; not yet rehearsed locally beyond reproducing the gettext/autopoint failure against the real upstream source tree.

Upstream publishes no sdist and no Linux wheel of any kind since 2.0.0
(Windows/macOS/x86_64-only bdist_wheel); its own build_hunspell.py
downloads and compiles hunspell 1.7.0 with autoreconf/configure/make on
every build, so this builds the sdist from the tagged checkout and
drives that same mechanism inside the manylinux_riscv64 image.
