Compiles the _geoslib Cython extension against GEOS. Upstream publishes no riscv64 wheel.

Mirrors upstream's run_before_all.py/GeosLibrary, which builds GEOS 3.6.5 from source via CMake, the same proven pattern as build-shapely.yml/build-pyproj.yml.

Differs from upstream

  • dnf install -y cmake before the GEOS build - the PyPI cmake wheel has no riscv64 build.
  • Skip installing basemap_data_hires before tests - nothing in test/ needs its "h"/"f" resolutions.

Matrix: cp312/cp313 only - setup.py caps python_requires at <3.14.

Testing

  • same as upstream

License: OK, wheel bundles LICENSE.geos (LGPL-2.1) alongside basemap's own MIT LICENSE.

Built on cp312/cp313; dependency resolution against this registry (matplotlib, pyproj, numpy, basemap_data, pyshp) confirmed clean for both interpreters.

Builds GEOS 3.6.5 from source via upstream's own run_before_all.py/GeosLibrary
helper (CMake, no arch-specific code), mirroring the shapely/pyproj pattern
already proven on riscv64 in this repo. Compiles the _geoslib Cython extension
against it. matplotlib/pyproj (runtime deps) already have riscv64 wheels in
this registry for cp312/cp313; basemap_data/basemap_data_hires/pyshp are pure
py3-none-any wheels on public PyPI already. python_requires caps basemap at
<3.14, so the matrix is cp312/cp313 only.
