What changed and why

AWS EventBridge events (PutEvents calls and CDK/SAM rule patterns) produced no topic contracts in workspaces, leaving event-driven dependencies unlinked across services.

Part 2 of #4521 (AWS EventBridge events).

How

  • Added EventBridgeTopicDialect (EVENTBRIDGE) in packages/core/src/repowise/core/workspace/extractors/topic/aws.py:
    • Publishers: PutEventsCommand (AWS SDK v3), putEvents (v2), and put_events (boto3) extracting <source>/<detail-type> as CLIENT_CALL providers.
    • Consumers: CDK eventPattern rule blocks and SAM / CloudFormation EventBridgeRule Pattern blocks as ROUTE_REGISTRATION consumers.
    • Gated on PutEvents, put_events, eventPattern, EventPattern, EventBridgeRule.
    • Appended EVENTBRIDGE to DIALECTS in extractors/topic/__init__.py.
    • Added eventbridge to _OWN_KIND_ONLY in matching/topic.py so EventBridge topics only match other EventBridge topics.
    • Documented EventBridge contracts in docs/architecture/language-support.md and docs/scale/WORKSPACES.md.

Verification

  • Added 7 unit tests in tests/unit/workspace/test_eventbridge_topics.py (covering SDK v3 TS, boto3 Python, CDK TS rule patterns, SAM YAML templates, cross-repo contract matching, isolation from SQS/SNS, and comment suppression).
  • Verified test_eventbridge_topics.py and test_dialect_registry.py pass (150 tests).
  • Verified ruff check passes cleanly.

P1 · SAM templates keep only one rule
The YAML branch runs search once over the whole file. A SAM or CloudFormation template with several EventBridgeRule resources therefore yields one consumer, built from the first rule's source and detail-type, at offset 0. Every other rule in that template is dropped from the topic graph with no warning, and its link to the publisher is lost. Iterate over each EventBridgeRule resource block with finditer, as the CDK branch already does, and emit one consumer per block.

In repowise-dev/repowise#4639, at packages/core/src/repowise/core/workspace/extractors/topic/aws.py:148: The YAML branch runs `search` once over the whole file. A SAM or CloudFormation template with several `EventBridgeRule` resources therefore yields one consumer, built from the first rule's `source` and `detail-type`, at offset 0. Every other rule in that template is dropped from the topic graph with no warning, and its link to the publisher is lost. Iterate over each `EventBridgeRule` resource block with `finditer`, as the CDK branch already does, and emit one consumer per block.
