Since we're here... I think we can do some improvements in the build system of this project. For example, as you may have noticed, the changes currently are to disable building the other packages, and stop after building. This is because at the time, I only wanted to build Linux, and install it in my actual system, instead of fully building sigma linux. (I already reset --hard so you wont be able to see the old changes but just take my word for it) That being said, I want some big changes to be done here. 1. Turn the building of this project into Ruby. I started with bash because it was simple, but I feel like bash gets in your way a lot after the project grows. 2. Make the build more modular. Much like I described above, sometimes you can't even do a simple task like telling it to build one package only and stopping, because the script was meant to just go and make the ISO. That changes now. Here's an idea, but you probably know better than me about this stuff: maybe making stages would be nice. And I can execute stages separately and individually if I want to, and maybe I can start the full build from a specific stage, maybe I can do only a subset of a stage, etc. Like I said: you be the judge here. I haven't actually measured the weight of this change, neither have I looked into alternatives or other options. Look at this problem with care, don't just take my word for it. 3. I want this to be beautiful. Not just a boring, ugly script, make it beautiful. You are allowed to re-architect existing choices regarding the build system, the local packages and other stuff you deem should change. This is mostly a "refactor"/"rework"/"rearchitect" sort of change anyways. You can also make changes to the dockerfile, if needed. Maybe even changes to improve caching and other stuff. One final change i want you to make also: make sure that the GRUB config updates correctly when there are kernel changes, but doesn't lose my grub configurations that are in this project (the letter colors, the wallpaper...) - everytime I update my kernel, a GRUB trigger reruns and fully overwrites my config. --- Now I'm asking quite a bit of stuff here, so I recommend you divide this into phases. Execute one phase at a time, divide according to a common goal of one or many tasks. When you finish a task, check it. When you finish a phase, check it. (or mark as done however you like). Make it in a PLAN.md at the root of the project.
