GLS Bank: No supported HIKAZS version found #200

Description

@varac

Describe the bug

I'm using https://github.com/MoritzR/fints2ledger to fetch my bank transactions for a long time.
Suddenly, without any configuration or code changes, fints2ledger fails with the error message:

This operation is not supported by this bank: No supported HIKAZS version found. I support (5, 6, 7), bank supports ().

I can reproduce this with the script taken from https://python-fints.readthedocs.io/en/latest/trouble.html

*Bank I tested this with
Name of the bank: GLS Bank
FinTS URL: https://fints1.atruvia.de/cgi-bin/hbciservlet

Expected behavior

I'd like to fetch my latest transactions like before

Code required to reproduce

fints2ledger

python-fints Debug script

Log output / error message

  • This operation is not supported by this bank: No supported HIKAZS version found. I support (5, 6, 7), bank supports ().
  • I could provide the output from the script if needed, but it's huge and I'd like to clean it up before.

Additional context

  • I filed the bug here and not at fints2ledger because I could reproduce the issue with the fints debug script.
  • python-fints v4.2.4

    @softint2

    Having since yesterday the same problem, but I use the library here direct in a self written program, fetching the accounts works, fetching transaction results in the same error.

    @softint2

    As I am not into fints protocol, I did some "debugging" with the AI:

    `# Debug: Check what transaction-related segments the bank supports

    print("Bank supported segments:")
    for segment in fin_client.bpd.segments:
    if 'KAZ' in segment.header.type or 'HIK' in segment.header.type:
    print(f" {segment.header.type} v{segment.header.version}")`

    Bank supported segments: HIKAUS v2 HIKIFS v7 HIKAAS v1

    The bank no longer advertises HIKAZS (account transaction statements) but now only shows:

    HIKAUS v2 - Account information (Kontoauszug/statements)
    HIKIFS v7 - Account information filtered
    HIKAAS v1 - Account information archived

    The bank switched from HIKAZS to HIKAUS/HIKIFS for transaction retrieval.

    @MJochim

    This is very likely due to the problem in described in #193 and possibly fixed in #196.

    @varac I faced exactly the same error This operation is not supported by this bank: No supported HIKAZS version found. I support (5, 6, 7), bank supports (). its fixed on this pr: #196

    Yeah, we fully need to move to XML apparently. I'll try to work on this ASAP.

    Can you test if #202 works for your workflows? The results might be a little different than before, so be cautious.

    @raphaelm Yes, #202 works with the debug script from the docs !
    It still doesn't work with fints2ledger, but this might be a different issue now. Thanks for fixing !

    What exact issue do you run into with fints2ledger? Maybe it can be solved with a field mapping.

    I get this error now, using fints2ledger v1.3.1 and fints 5.0.0b1:

    I also created a fints2ledger issue: fints 5.0.0b1: KeyError: 'posting_text'

    @MJochim

    5.0.0b1 fixed this issue for me, same bank. Mine is a simple read-only workflow. Thanks so much to @raphaelm and everyone who contributed!
