Description
This example makes
reindex_likeeasier to understand by showing, with small concrete datasets, exactly how labels are aligned and what happens to missing ones — the new label getsNaN. It also fills one of the gaps in the umbrella docstring-examples checklist in #6793, following the repr style maintainers asked for in #11713.Part of #6793.
Verification
Codex ran these checks against base

I used a coordinated multi-agent workflow with Codex, GitHub Copilot and Kimi for development, testing, independent review and wording. I reviewed the changes and supporting evidence and take responsibility for the contribution. Codex ran the reported checks. This involved multiple task-specific instructions rather than a single prompt.
Tools: Codex, GitHub Copilot and Kimi.
Prompt information — summary of actual bounded tasks, not a verbatim transcript: prepare one small xarray documentation contribution after checking current contribution rules and duplicate work; add and review a concrete
Dataset.reindex_likeexample showing label alignment and missing values; verify the executable example, nearby regressions, formatting and focused rendering; preserve the reviewed patch and report actual verification limits.
