Summary

The pep8 tox env installs unpinned ruff, and ruff 0.16 widened its default rule set. CI picked up ruff 0.16.6 and started reporting 10 errors that 0.15.x never flagged, so the lint job is currently red on every PR.

This applies the fixes:

  • I001: single blank line after the import blocks in ed25519.py, science.py, and setup.py.
  • PIE808: drop the redundant 0 start argument from range(0, b) in decodeint and decodepoint.
  • RUF059: the unused extended-coordinate t values unpacked in edwards_double, encodepoint, checkvalid, and one test now use _.

No behavior changes.

Test plan

  • ruff check and ruff format --check pass on ruff 0.16.6 (CI's version) and 0.15.8
  • pytest passes (1025 tests)

ruff 0.16 expanded its default rule set, so the pep8 tox env (which
installs unpinned ruff) started failing with import-block formatting
(I001), unnecessary range start arguments (PIE808), and unused unpacked
variables (RUF059). Apply the automatic fixes and prefix the unused
extended-coordinate `t` values with an underscore.
