Merge only after prisma/orm#30821 is merged and 8.0.0-rc.19 is on npm. Until then these pages describe a version nobody can install.

Prisma ORM 8.0.0-rc.19 changes how a client gets its contract, moves client-generated values from @default(uuid()) to @onCreate(uuid()), and writes date, time and bytes defaults with tags. This PR brings the Prisma ORM 8 pages in line with that and the release's other changes. The release notes are docs/releases/v8.0.0-rc.19.md. Every path below is under apps/docs/content/docs/. Nothing under v6/ or v7/ changes.

Overlap with open docs PRs. This branch starts from main. The 8.0.0-rc.17 and 8.0.0-rc.18 docs PRs (#8417 and #8498) are still open and change many of the same pages, so whichever merges later must resolve conflicts.

Version numbers

orm/release-status: @prisma/orm-postgres and @prisma/orm-mongo at 8.0.0-rc.19. The prisma CLI row is unchanged.
guides/upgrade-prisma-orm/postgresql and mongodb, guides/frameworks/solid-start, (index)/prisma-orm/from-scratch: the @prisma/orm-* version.

Breaking changes, by release-notes entry

Client generators are @onCreate(...) / @onUpdate(...); @default means a database default. orm/contract-authoring/psl-syntax (new "Generated values" section, PSL_GENERATOR_IN_DEFAULT, @updatedAt as @onCreate(now()) @onUpdate(now())), orm/contract-authoring/typescript-schema-builder (.onCreate(gen.uuid(7)), .onUpdate(gen.now())), orm/coming-from-prisma-orm-7 (mapping table), cli/contract-print, and the schema samples in orm/fundamentals/*, orm/data-modeling/index, orm/reference/orm-client, orm/reference/sql-query-builder and orm/extensions/using-extensions.
A client takes the contract as a typed value. orm/reference/transactions-and-runtime (options, tables, PostgresOptions<Contract>), every client sample in orm/reference/*, orm/middleware/*, orm/extensions/using-extensions, orm/fundamentals/transactions, orm/contract-authoring/the-contract-artifact, orm/coming-from-prisma-orm-7, cli/orm-init, the (index)/prisma-orm getting-started pages, and the guides under guides/database, guides/deployment (Cloudflare Workers keeps the contract unexported in the entry module), guides/frameworks/solid-start, guides/integrations/github-actions, guides/making-guides, guides/switch-to-prisma-orm/* and guides/upgrade-prisma-orm/*.
Date, time, interval and bytes defaults use tags; one stored form per default. orm/contract-authoring/psl-syntax (Default values), orm/data-modeling/index, orm/coming-from-prisma-orm-7, cli/contract-infer, cli/contract-emit, cli/db-sign (sign every database after the upgrade).
@noCheck removed; T?[]. orm/contract-authoring/psl-syntax, orm/contract-authoring/typescript-schema-builder, orm/coming-from-prisma-orm-7.
Type-constructor arguments are values. orm/contract-authoring/psl-syntax.
Enum members are values of their data type. orm/contract-authoring/psl-syntax.
Generator arguments are checked; a generator must fit its column. orm/contract-authoring/psl-syntax, cli/configuration (PSL.PRISMA7_UNKNOWN_DEFAULT), orm/data-modeling/relational-databases (@@discriminator).
Re-emit contract.d.ts. cli/contract-emit.
A MongoDB field keeps its schema name in code. orm/data-modeling/mongodb, orm/contract-authoring/psl-syntax and typescript-schema-builder (.mongo({ field: '_id' })), orm/fundamentals/*, orm/reference/orm-client, orm/reference/pipeline-builder and raw-queries (raw stages keep stored names), cli/migration-plan (--rename, --delete), the MongoDB getting-started pages, guides/upgrade-prisma-orm/mongodb, guides/switch-to-prisma-orm/from-mongoose.
MongoDB TypeScript contracts get a collection validator. orm/contract-authoring/typescript-schema-builder, orm/data-modeling/mongodb, orm/migrations/how-migrations-work.
Migration checks require the full effect. orm/migrations/how-migrations-work (plan unapplied migrations again), orm/reference/migration-api (setDefault without operationClass, alterColumnType options and the using refusal, the autoincrement() sequence).
A failed migration reports the runner's own code. orm/migrations/applying-a-migration, orm/migrations/rollbacks-and-recovery, orm/migrations/how-migrations-work.
db schema --json uses typeText. cli/db-schema (new "Column types" section).
using is a reserved collection member. orm/reference/orm-client (new "Package methods with using" section), orm/extensions/using-extensions.
Clients and transactions gain new members. orm/reference/transactions-and-runtime.

prisma7Schema() loads Unsupported(...) and @updatedAt beside @default(now()). cli/configuration.
now() on every Postgres date and time type; generators on optional fields. orm/contract-authoring/psl-syntax.
Plain strings for Varchar<50> and similar in filters and writes; MongoDB where with null and lists. orm/reference/orm-client.
pg.enum(auth.OrderStatus) across namespaces; Bit, VarBit, Interval. orm/contract-authoring/psl-syntax, cli/contract-infer.
db verify compares data types; raw SQL default errors show both texts. cli/db-verify.
setDefault applied when it changes a default; sequences widen with their column. orm/reference/migration-api.

Each SQL ORM call is one orm-call activity; the cache keys annotated ORM reads. The middleware pages on main still describe the hooks from before 8.0.0-rc.18. docs(docs): update the Prisma ORM 8 pages for 8.0.0-rc.18 #8498 rewrites them; this text should land on top of it. orm/middleware/built-in-budgets also needs a line that mode: 'permissive' turns 'warn' severities into log entries.
String timestamp columns are filled with text and a SQLite DateTime without an offset is read as UTC: no page described the old behaviour.
SQLite db.orm gains fragment; supabase() creates its pool on the first query: no page documents these.
Extension-author changes (activities, codecs, type constructors, MongoDB validator derivation): the site has no extension-authoring reference for these APIs.
