Corrects vendor details (Fly.io, Neon, Render, Vercel) in the ORM deployment guides and the Postgres docs. Content only, 9 files.

Changes

  • Fly.io deploy guides (v6, v7): said "35 regions"; Fly.io's regions page lists 17 today. Dropped the count and linked the canonical page (the old URL 301s to it). Source: docs.fly.io/reference/regions, checked 2026-10-19.
  • Neon page (v6) and PostgreSQL page (v7): said activation from idle takes "500ms to a few seconds"; Neon says it generally takes a few hundred milliseconds and may be slightly longer after more than 7 days idle. Source: neon.com/docs/introduction/compute-lifecycle, checked 2026-10-19.
  • Render deploy guides (v6, v7): the guide used a pre-deploy command on a free web service; Render runs it only on paid web services. Step 4 and the Blueprint note now say to pick a paid compute plan (Render's term since 2026-08-26), and step 1 notes that Free Postgres databases expire 30 days after creation. Sources: render.com/docs/deploys, render.com/docs/free, render.com/docs/compute-plans-update, checked 2026-10-19.
  • Postgres overview, serverless driver and AI apps pages: said "Vercel Edge Functions"; Vercel now documents edge as a runtime of Vercel Functions. Source: vercel.com/docs/functions/runtimes/edge, checked 2026-10-19.

Notes for review

  • Neon's Prisma guide (linked from the v6 Neon page, #connection-timeouts) still says computes take a few seconds to wake. This PR follows Neon's compute lifecycle page, which says a few hundred milliseconds and matches its connection latency and scale-to-zero pages.
  • The v6 Neon bullet keeps its existing sentence that names Neon's own term for waking an idle compute (that sentence predates this PR and describes Neon, not Prisma); this PR edits only the timing sentence after it.
  • Scope: this PR fixes the Postgres docs and the pages above. Other edge deployment pages still say "Vercel Edge Functions" and can follow separately.

Checks

  • lint:links: 0 errors
  • lint:spellcheck: 0 issues in 868 files
  • lint:agent-ready: 0 failures, 1 size warning
  • pnpm test (docs): 70/71; the one failure is an unbuilt workspace package (@prisma/eclipse/dist not found), unrelated to this content-only diff

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated Neon guidance to clarify typical activation times and note that longer idle periods may increase them.
    • Clarified Fly.io region information and updated its regions reference.
    • Updated Render deployment guidance to explain free database expiration and paid-plan requirements for pre-deploy commands.
    • Updated Vercel edge runtime terminology across the PostgreSQL documentation.

…gres docs

- Fly.io deploy guides (v6, v7): drop the "35 regions" count; Fly.io lists
17 regions today. Link the canonical regions page instead.
- Neon (v7 PostgreSQL page, v6 Neon page): Neon's compute lifecycle docs say
activation from idle generally takes a few hundred milliseconds and can take
longer after more than 7 days idle.
- Render deploy guides (v6, v7): the Pre-Deploy Command runs only on paid web
services, so the guide now says to pick a paid instance type and to change
the example render.yaml from plan: free. Note that Free Render Postgres
databases expire 30 days after creation.
- Postgres overview, serverless driver and AI apps pages: Vercel no longer
ships "Edge Functions"; edge is a runtime of Vercel Functions.

…on line

- Render deploy guides (v6, v7): Render calls instance types "compute plans"
since 2026-08-26, so step 4 and the Blueprint note now say "paid compute
plan". The Free expiry note now names Free Postgres databases, matching
  Render's Free docs.
- v7 PostgreSQL page: Neon says activation may be slightly longer after more
than 7 days idle, so the bullet now says "can be longer".

Walkthrough

The documentation updates Neon idle activation estimates, Fly.io region references, and Render deployment plan requirements. Postgres platform examples and compatibility guidance also use updated Vercel Edge runtime terminology.

Changes

Neon activation timing

Layer / File(s) Summary
Neon activation guidance
apps/docs/content/docs/orm/v6/overview/databases/neon.mdx, apps/docs/content/docs/orm/v7/core-concepts/supported-databases/postgresql.mdx
Both versions describe typical idle activation as taking a few hundred milliseconds, with longer activation possible after more than seven days idle.

Deployment guidance

Layer / File(s) Summary
Fly.io region references
apps/docs/content/docs/orm/v6/prisma-client/deployment/traditional/deploy-to-flyio.mdx, apps/docs/content/docs/orm/v7/prisma-client/deployment/traditional/deploy-to-flyio.mdx
The region links use the current Fly.io reference, and the stated count of 35 regions is removed.
Render plan requirements
apps/docs/content/docs/orm/v6/prisma-client/deployment/traditional/deploy-to-render.mdx, apps/docs/content/docs/orm/v7/prisma-client/deployment/traditional/deploy-to-render.mdx
The instructions state that Free Postgres databases expire after 30 days. They also explain that Pre-Deploy Commands require a paid web-service compute plan, including when changing the Blueprint example’s plan: free setting.

Vercel edge-runtime references

Layer / File(s) Summary
Vercel runtime terminology
apps/docs/content/docs/postgres/best-postgres-for-ai-apps.mdx, apps/docs/content/docs/postgres/database/serverless-driver.mdx, apps/docs/content/docs/postgres/index.mdx
The documentation refers to Vercel’s Edge runtime instead of Vercel Edge Functions. Listed HTTP and WebSocket support remains unchanged.
