- Line 150: Update the DateTime/Temporal documentation to instruct readers to
run node -p "typeof Temporal" and install and globally import temporal-polyfill
when the result is undefined, including for Node.js 26 builds; retain the
existing guidance for versions where Temporal is unavailable.
In `@apps/docs/content/docs/orm/data-modeling/mongodb.mdx`:
- Line 26: Update the TypeScript ID guidance in the MongoDB data-modeling
documentation to state that a document’s own _id is returned as a hex string,
while an _id from a related document loaded through include() is returned as an
ObjectId object; preserve the existing ObjectId contract-type guidance.
- Line 88: Update the MongoDB data-modeling documentation to state that where()
supports embedded-field equality filters such as
MongoFieldFilter.eq('address.city', 'Berlin'). Remove the claim that
embedded-field matching requires the pipeline builder, while retaining the
pipeline builder guidance for queries requiring aggregation stages.
- Line 123: Update the MongoDB `.include("author")` documentation to state that
reference relations are resolved through a MongoDB `$lookup`, not a separate
client-side second read; distinguish this from manually querying the related
collection while preserving the surrounding denormalized-copy guidance.
- Line 169: Replace the inline MongoDB migration workflow near the
contract-generation instructions with a link to the migration reference
documenting the required local apply command, removing the prohibited full flag
syntax. Apply the same update to the corresponding modeling guides in the
relational and overview sections, preserving the surrounding guidance.
In `@apps/docs/content/docs/orm/data-modeling/relational-databases.mdx`:
- Around line 33-34: Update the referential-actions list near SetNull and
SetDefault to state that SetNull requires a nullable foreign-key field, while
SetDefault requires a default value that satisfies the foreign-key constraint.
Keep the existing action descriptions intact.

Temporal check for Homebrew Node.js 26, no flags in the migration sequence, narrower id claim on MongoDB, SetNull and SetDefault preconditions, and include described as a lookup. Earlier reader rounds split cause-and-effect and contrast pairs into one-clause sentences, which reads as staccato. Rejoin them with because, so, but, and colons where the facts belong together. No claims change. Also add a staccato rule to the docs-writer, content-write-blog, and docs-reader-review skills so the next plain-language pass does not reintroduce it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Rejoin runs of clipped one-clause sentences across every Prisma ORM 8 page outside v6 and v7, keeping every claim, command, and flag as it was. Add scripts/check-staccato.py to the docs-reader-review skill, with a step that runs it after the banned-term check, and point the docs-writer final pass at it. error-reference.mdx is generated and was left alone. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Plain-language pass (C21) over the three
orm/data-modeling/pages: the overview, Relational data modeling, and MongoDB data modeling. Same method as #8260, #8267, and #8271.Before and after
On the MongoDB page, the only thing the old text said about the primary key was:
Every reader then wrote
user.idand got nothing back, because the emitted types name the field_id. The page now says:On the relational page, the old text said "Because the list field is virtual, you never write to it." That was false: the same page showed a nested write through that field forty lines later. The sentence is gone and the two ways to connect a post and a tag are shown once each.
What changed
@@mapis optional on MongoDB and the default collection name is the lowercased model name. Embedded fields can be matched by path in the pipeline builder, but not in.where(). The one-to-one mirror field must be optional. The implicit many-to-many rejection names its error code.DateTimeistimestamptzand arrives as aTemporal.Instant. A model without a primary key emits, butupdateanddeletefail on it.migration planwrites a directory of files, not one file.@@typeon an enum is optional, and the storage is inferred from the members when it is absent. The "before 0.17" clause onJsonband the "PostgreSQL and other SQL databases" wording are gone; only PostgreSQL and MongoDB are named, with a link to Supported databases.dbcomes from and its import line. Whatnpx prisma contract emitdoes and that it replacesprisma generate. The command order from an edited contract to a migrated database, as one Next steps bullet per page. That.variant("Bug")takes the model name and"bug"is a type error. Optional relations, self-relations, and naming a second relation between the same models. Referential actions moved out of Next steps into the section that declares relations, with three words per action. On MongoDB: how ids are assigned,u.fieldversusu("path.to.field"), replacing an embedded value,@uniquebecoming an index, and that there are no nested writes.prisma.config.tssnippet and a project-setup section (readers asked every round; the contract-authoring pages own it, so each page links there). A JSON-path filter on PostgreSQL (not supported; raw SQL is linked). MongoDB query depth beyond the page's own models (C24 inchanges.md).How it was checked
cfccb09be2), one Opus checker per page. rc.11 changed nothing in the contract language.migration planoutput, the enum@@typerequirement,u("address").set(...)which does not type-check, acreateexample missing a required field, and a claim that a variant declares no@@map).check-plain.shclean, cspell clean,lint-linksclean.The reader reports, fixer reports, checker reports, and the section's
conventions.mdandpage-conventions.mdare in the branch history at 19138ba.For the reviewer
@@maponly renamed a table", "without thedata:wrapper") are Prisma ORM 7 facts and are stated as such; the rc.10 source cannot confirm them.onDeleteandonUpdateare both omitted, Prisma ORM writes no clause. The page says "the database decides" and does not name PostgreSQL's default. Theprisma-8skill'scontract.mdsays the default isRestrict; the code disagrees, and the page follows the code. That skill line looks stale.npx prisma db migratemust run before the first write on MongoDB is not stated: the MongoDB runtime has no marker check that the checker could find.Qitems the pages answer with silence: whatSetDefaultdoes when the column has no default (no validation in the source), and whether.variant("Article").all()rows carry the variant's fields typed on MongoDB (the tests cast them, so the page does not claim it).Alternatives considered
Adding a short "Set up" section to each page with the config file and the command loop. Refused because every earlier section pass hit the same request and the rule from the handover is one sentence and a link; the setup material would be copied three times and drift from the contract-authoring pages that own it.
