R keeps the quotes in a Snowflake semantic view's quoted base table names #446

Open

Description

@jat255

R can't find the base tables of a Snowflake semantic view when the view names them with quoted identifiers. Snowflake stores the name exactly as written, so a base table created as "orders" appears in the view's YAML as table: '"orders"'. snowflake_semantic_dependencies() keeps the quotes as part of the name. data_source(con, tables = model$dependencies) then fails with tables names table not on the connection: "COMMONS_CI.LIVE.\"orders\"".

The YAML follows SQL identifier rules: a quoted name is exact (with "" for a literal quote), and an unquoted name folds to upper case. The same applies to database and schema.

Found by "live Snowflake scopes models associated with physical tables" in #431, the first live run with a semantic view provisioned.
