This is a combined manual backport of #68237, #68685, and #70343 to release-nextgen-202603.

Issue Number: ref #68236, ref #68633, ref #68682

Why these changes are combined

Picking them separately would temporarily introduce the known hot-path regression fixed by #68685 and would duplicate conflict resolution in the same server/session code.

Conflict resolution

  • Preserved the nextgen finishStmt transaction-history behavior while adding the DML pre-commit liveness check.
  • Preserved nextgen-specific client-go and PD history; the client-go prerequisite was ported separately instead of using the divergent master client-go version.
  • Added only the direct Bazel dependencies generated for the new server test.

Check List

Tests

  • Unit test
  • Integration test
  • Manual test (add detailed scripts or steps below)
  • No need to test
    • I checked and no code files have been changed.

Release note

Fix the issue that statements might continue running and retain transaction locks after the client disconnects during autocommit DML or an explicit transaction.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes

    • Improved handling of disconnected clients so active statements are canceled promptly.
    • Ensured blocked inserts, updates, deletes, and lock-waiting statements stop when the client connection closes.
    • Preserved query-interruption signals during relevant operations instead of clearing them prematurely.
    • Added connection checks before committing eligible automatic transactions to prevent completing work after disconnects.
  • Dependencies

    • Updated pinned versions of selected storage and client dependencies.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The change updates TiKV dependencies and propagates client disconnects through SQLKiller. Eligible statements now cancel active dispatches, interrupt lock waits, and handle rollback. New unit, integration, and real TiKV tests cover these paths.

Changes

Connection liveness and query interruption

Layer / File(s) Summary
Dependency pins
DEPS.bzl, go.mod
Updates the pinned kvproto and client-go/v2 versions. Moves lumberjack.v2 to indirect dependencies.
Kill signal wiring
pkg/util/sqlkiller/sqlkiller.go, pkg/sessionctx/variable/session.go, pkg/session/tidb.go, pkg/expression/builtin_miscellaneous_vec.go
Connects session KV operations to SQLKiller. Adds connection checks before selected autocommit DML commits. Prevents doSleep from resetting kill signals during DML.
Server execution integration
pkg/server/conn.go, pkg/server/conn_stmt.go, pkg/server/server.go
Installs liveness checks around interruptible execution and lock prefetch. Cancels active dispatches and propagates query-interruption errors.
Disconnect interruption validation
pkg/server/conn_stmt_test.go, pkg/server/tests/commontest/tidb_test.go, tests/realtikvtest/pessimistictest/*
Tests statement classification, client disconnects, lock waits, process cleanup, and transaction rollback.

Run make bazel_prepare and commit its generated metadata.

These lines add dependencies to a Bazel test target. The repository requires make bazel_prepare when Bazel dependencies or test targets change. The supplied cohort contains no generated metadata update. Run the command and include all resulting Bazel metadata before merge.

As per coding guidelines: "**/{WORKSPACE,DEPS.bzl,BUILD.bazel,MODULE.bazel,MODULE.bazel.lock,*.bazel,*.bzl}: Run make bazel_prepare when Bazel-related files or Bazel test targets change." Based on learnings: dependency changes are structural Bazel changes and require the generated metadata output.

Also applies to: 194-194

Reviewed head 23981bc against the upstream fixes (#68237, #68685, and #70343). I did not find a blocking backport issue. The branch-specific transaction-history handling is preserved, and client-go includes the merged release-nextgen-202603 signal-handler backport (#2059).

Locally ran make bazel_prepare (no resulting diff) and the following tests with failpoints enabled and -tags=intest,deadlock,nextgen -count=1:

  • pkg/server: TestShouldInstallConnectionAlive
  • pkg/server/tests/commontest: TestClientDisconnectKillsAutocommitInsert, TestClientDisconnectKillsExplicitTxn

These passed. The current-head build, unit, real-cluster integration, and mysql-client CI checks also passed. I did not independently rerun RealTiKV locally.

Source review passed. Compared the backports of #68237, #68685, and #70343 with their upstream changes and reviewed the combined execution paths: callback lifetime, prepared-statement classification, pre-commit checks, transaction-finalization exclusions, multi-statement prefetch cancellation, and client-go signal propagation. The nextgen transaction-history behavior is preserved. I found no blocking correctness or backport issue. Local targeted tests and current-head CI provide additional validation; this approval is based on source review as well.
