fix(components): cap inspect-component and defer-blocks answers - #300
Conversation
inspect-component returned the whole component detail as JSON, so a component with large inputs or properties could send hundreds of kilobytes to an agent. Past 20,000 characters it now cuts each value longer than 1,000 characters to the start of its JSON, then keeps fewer entries per list, and names what it left out. The component-tree resource still has the full detail. defer-blocks listed every block of every page (up to 500 per page). It now lists 50 blocks per page in the table and 50 under Needs attention, says how many more are not shown and how to narrow, and cuts the answer with the shared capped() helper, which takes an optional hint on how to narrow.

before slicing text, and adjust the defer-block test’s allowance so it verifies
the stated limit rather than permitting an overrun.

…ective inputs capped() cut the text at MAX_TOOL_CHARS and then added its note, so a cut answer ran past the stated limit. It now reserves room for the note, so the whole answer is at most MAX_TOOL_CHARS. inspect-component never shortened the inputs and outputs of a directive, so one directive with hundreds of inputs fell through to the final cut with no count of what was left out. Each reduction step now shortens them too and names the omitted counts in the note.
What and why
inspect-componentreturned the whole component detail as JSON with no limit, anddefer-blocksprinted every block of every page (up to 500 rows per page). Both could send very large answers to an agent.inspect-component: past 20,000 characters, values longer than 1,000 characters show only the start of their JSON, then each list keeps fewer entries. A note names the cut values and how many entries are not shown, and points to thedetailof thecomponent-treeresource for the full values.defer-blocks: at most 50 table rows and 50 "Needs attention" entries per page, with "N more ... not shown" and how to narrow (page, or the Defer blocks list in the panel). The whole answer is cut at 20,000 characters.capped()helper fromrouter-tools.ts, which now takes an optional hint on how to narrow. The default wording is unchanged for the router, SSR and HTTP tools.inspect-signalsis already capped at 20,000 characters. How it was verified
