### Fixed
- Prevent designate's bind9 remote-control channel from being disabled on kolla-ansible 2024.1-2025.2 by keeping designate_backend_external as the string "no" below 2026.1 (osism/defaults#309)
- Use the upstream keystone_federation_oidc_forwarded_headers variable so the OIDC X-Forwarded-Proto header setting takes effect again (osism/defaults#313)
- Pin mariadb_backup_target to "active" to avoid backup stalls and ProxySQL handshake failures caused by deriving the value from the load balancer (osism/defaults#314)

- Document the shared-value role trap where mirroring a variable's value alone can split it from the release-specific role that consumes it (osism/defaults#310)
- Gate enable_kolla_operations to only 2024.1 and 2024.2, since the feature is inert on 2025.1 and later (osism/defaults#311)
