Description

Add fastfetch as a new package in the utils category.

Fastfetch is a fast, neofetch-like system information tool written in C.
Unlike neofetch (not accepted upstream due to its bash dependency, see
#9374), fastfetch has no runtime dependency on bash.

Build

  • Minimal, deterministic CMake configuration: only zlib and libc-provided
features (threads, wordexp, wcwidth) are enabled. All optional detectors
requiring desktop/GUI/scripting libraries (X11, Wayland, GPU, DBus,
ImageMagick, Lua, QuickJS, ZFS, ...) are explicitly disabled, since they
are not useful on a router and would otherwise be silently enabled or
disabled depending on what happens to be present in staging_dir.
  • Builds cleanly with no patches.
  • DEPENDS:=+zlib only.

Testing

  • Built for mediatek/filogic (aarch64_cortex-a53).
  • Installed and ran on real hardware (CMCC RAX3000M, OpenWrt 25.12.4,
apk-based): fastfetch --version and full output verified, including
    the built-in OpenWrt logo.

Fastfetch is a fast, neofetch-like system information tool written in C.
Unlike neofetch, which was not accepted upstream due to its bash
dependency (see openwrt#9374), fastfetch has no runtime dependency on bash,
making it suitable for OpenWrt.

The build is kept minimal and deterministic: only zlib and
libc-provided features are enabled, all optional detectors requiring
desktop/GUI/scripting libraries are explicitly disabled. Builds
cleanly with no patches.

Tested on real hardware (CMCC RAX3000M, mediatek/filogic,
OpenWrt 25.12.4).

Closing in favor of #27949, which was opened earlier and already has active maintainer review in progress. Apologies for the duplicate.
