[Test failure] <TC_AUTHOR_50>: <Reset option is not working properly for submit button in common problem components> #36824
The "Submit" button should be disabled after clicking reset option.
Actual behavior
After clicking the "Reset" button, questions are reset, but the "Submit" button stays active and clickable. If the user clicks the "Submit" button without selecting any option, it is marked incorrect.
Reset.Option.Issue.mov
Steps to reproduce
Navigate to a common problem type component (SCQ, MCQ ) in the course.
Attempt a question and submit an incorrect answer.
Click the "Reset" button to reset the question.
Click the submit button without selecting any option.
@AhmadHassan001 Thanks for the report ! I tested it as well and was able to replicate the issue. I also ran some tests on previous versions and found that this bug has been around for a while. I will dedicate some time next week to investigate further and will provide any updates here 😊
I'm testing this on Teak and it seems that this is resolved for multi-select and dropdown problems. I also noticed that the Reset option is available to set as True on all problem types, but will only by visible/functional for the multi-select and dropdown problems only
There is a PR that might solve this issue: #35118, but I haven't had the time to properly review it. Also I'm not very familiar with backbone setup, so I'm not sure I'm the best for the job. In any case, I'll be working on it but I'll add the help wanted label in case someone else wants to pick it up.

This is currently happening in quince as well.

@DonatoBD: I created an issue in the learning MFE repo to get maintainers attention.

This issue affects edx-platform instead of the MFE, so I'm going to close the issue in the MFE to track it here directly.

Thank you, @cachob! We'll re-run this test to review whether this issue is still necessary.

@cachob: I just replicated this in the teak sandbox. Can you list the instructions you followed for testing?

hi everyone,
taking into that the xblocks were moved to https://github.com/openedx/xblocks-core, I created a new PR in that repo with the fix:
