…nk_size default The vocab-parallel logprob upcasts logits to fp32 and (unchunked) materializes the whole [num_tokens, vocab//TP] fp32 tensor — ~21 GiB for one 146k-token trajectory at TP4 — OOMing terminus-2 agentic RL at global_step 1 (opencode survives the same geometry ⇒ seq-length-driven, not infra). Signature: state-5 FAILED, no error string (real killer is RayTaskError(OutOfMemoryError) in worker-*.err, masked by a secondary PicklingError). Fix = the ChunkedDistributedLogprob path, now default logprob_chunk_size 1024 (MarinSkyRL PR open-thoughts#81); numerically exact, ref worker now reads its own key.
