Plugin

  • Id: yuuto/arch-updater
  • New plugin
  • Update to an existing plugin (version bumped in plugin.toml)

What it does

Three small panel/UX fixes to the Arch Updater plugin:

  • Tightens the spacing and shrinks the copy/open-page icon buttons in the expanded pacman/AUR/Flatpak package list, so it reads more compact.
  • "Dismiss" now actually clears the pending package list (pacman/AUR/Flatpak counts and items reset, download size cleared) and closes the panel, instead of just hiding the bar badge while quietly keeping stale data around until the next check.
  • "Update" now also closes the panel when clicked, matching Dismiss.

External dependencies

None (no new external dependencies, existing dependencies in plugin.toml are unchanged).

Testing

  • Tested on Niri
  • Tested on Hyprland
  • Tested on Sway
  • Tested on another compositor:
  • Noctalia version tested against: v5.0.0-beta.7-76-g02316e0c567c
  • Plugin API level: 9

Checklist

  • The directory name matches the part of id after the / in plugin.toml exactly.
  • It ships plugin.toml, README.md, thumbnail.webp, and translations/en.json.
  • README.md follows the
    README template, documents
every entry id and dependency, and includes exact panel IPC commands and launcher prefixes where applicable.
  • I created thumbnail.webp with the thumbnail generator.
  • version follows semver and is bumped in this PR; plugin_api is the oldest API level this plugin requires.
  • Every non-English translation in this PR uses a locale supported by Noctalia core, and I can read, write, and
understand that language well enough to review and maintain it (no unreviewed machine/LLM translations).
  • I did not edit catalog.toml; CI generates it.
  • This PR touches exactly one plugin directory.

Code review attestation

Plugins run as trusted, unsandboxed Luau in the user's session. Confirm:

  • The code is readable and not obfuscated, minified, or generated.
  • It does not download and execute remote code.
  • Every network call, filesystem write, and spawned process is something the description above accounts for.
  • I have the right to publish this code under the license declared in plugin.toml.

closes #267

Tracks the pending-update count across recent checks and when the last
update ran, persisted to disk so it survives restarts. Off also stops
recording history, not just hiding it.
ui.graph has no pointer props of its own, so a row of ghost buttons
sits under the line as per-point hit targets, each with a native
tooltip. History entries now carry a timestamp and whether the check
followed an update run, so hovering a point says when it happened and
either its pending count or "Updated".
loadHistoryState() only ran lazily inside recordCheck/recordUpdateRun,
so a freshly started service published an empty history until a check
completed, hiding the graph even when prior sessions had data on disk.
