[Bug]: False positive "Replica lag" setup check on standalone MariaDB (Slave_running = OFF) #1190
Description

- I'm using a maintained major version of Nextcloud Server and tested against the latest patch level. (Supported major versions and current patch levels).

- I've tried my best to provide clear reproduction steps that someone unfamiliar with this bug could use to reproduce it.
Bug description
After installing Nextcloud 35.0.1, the admin overview shows a failing database check on a standalone MariaDB server that has never been configured as a replica:
Replica lag — Alert
Slave_lag — Fails
A configured replica is not running.
Slave_running is reporting OFF.
Check the replica with SHOW REPLICA STATUS; resolve any IO/SQL errors and restart replication.
Value: 0
The server is not a replica and has no replication configured. Slave_running = OFF is the normal value on a standalone MariaDB server, so the check seems to treat it as a stopped replica.
Steps to reproduce
- Install Nextcloud 35.0.1 on a standalone MariaDB 11.8.6 server (no replication configured).
- Open Administration settings → Overview, or run
php occ setupchecks. - The "Replica lag" check fails..
Expected behavior
No replica lag alert on a server that is not a replica. The check should be skipped or pass when no replication is configured.
