Claude could finish its reply while cc-remote kept the session running and rejected the next prompt as steering. This change settles pre-input anonymous activity at the corresponding human terminal while preserving independent background tasks and existing persistent services.
Device upgrades now verify the paired Relay first, update Relay + Web through the existing SSH administration channel when needed, and activate the device only after public health/version checks pass. The downloaded installer covers the first upgrade initiated by the v4.0.1 updater. Repeated attempts inspect the recorded remote transaction instead of launching another after a lost connection.
Also show authenticated device/server version differences, preserve explicitly registered custom Mac installation roots and LaunchAgent settings, and initialize Work stores before optional Codex probes (the outstanding final review finding on #47). Prepare product version 4.0.2 and bilingual release notes; wire protocol remains v72.
Validation (final local revision):
Regression coverage includes live/replayed Claude completion followed by another prompt, preserved background tasks, failed/unknown upstream updates, and legacy-installer coordination before local service shutdown. No live model turn is sent by these tests.
Scope excludes Electron, DSH and computer-use development branches. Release v4.0.2 will be tagged only after CI and AI review of the final PR revision pass.
