Integrate the owner-approved X1 rendering/Gun Volt stack (#149, #152, #153) with current main's 2.3.8 Learner Mode, and stamp the next Windows release as 2.3.9.
The owner explicitly reported “x1 passes” and requested a new release. Existing individual review heads pass CI. This branch freezes main b700c64, approved X1 head 5640b0d, shared runtime 8323d781 and current-main UI 3f1d6f12. The newer engine already contains main's 267ff24 dependency; no upstream feature is dropped. Source feature defaults remain unchanged; the release uses the approved Windows x64 renderer profile, including explicit BG spans ON.
Supported regeneration includes current-main Learner Mode hooks. Combined full Windows compilation, all ROM-free tests, packaged Gun Volt/source-input/pixel comparisons, four Magic Carpet variants, render rollback and current-build/fresh-process save-load checks are running before merge/publication. Keep draft until these gates pass. The remaining Metroid owner check/shared-engine merges are independent and remain pending.

All combined release gates pass: supported regeneration, full Windows build, complete ctest suite, package dependency/CRC/private-data audit, exact original Gun Volt guest-input and repaired-pixel comparison, current/fresh-process save-load, four Magic Carpet variants and render rollback. Integration CI is green. Owner X1 approval is recorded; no further owner X1 replay is required.
