👋 Hi there! I'm Martin-Louis Bright, a software engineer living in Toronto, Canada, with over 20 years of experience in information technology.
I naturally gravitate toward networking, cloud computing, and Linux system administration.
Agents write most of my Python, Bash, Terraform, Rust, Go, and C, usually in an SSH session from a few tmux panes at once. I read more code than ever but I don't pick projects by language anymore (and I probably never should have). My career-long pledge to avoid languages prefixed with 'Java' has, in the past, limited my opportunities: now it is enabled by AI.
What's interesting is:
- which bytes are on the wire,
- whether the thing works or merely compiles,
- if it's properly tested,
- if it solves the problem for the organization
I'm currently working at cPacket Networks, where I operate mainly in AWS and Azure. Before that, I was a GitHub Enterprise site administrator at Autodesk. I'm at home on Linux (Ubuntu, still) and macOS, I think infrastructure as code and GitOps are great, and I embraced devops culture before it had a name.
An archived repository in this space means that it has few or no end users, or that it is an experiment that has run its course. The archived repos here are unmaintained, however if you have questions about them, feel free to reach out via old-fashioned email.
