New issues and pull requests currently rely on manual labeling, and incomplete bug reports can sit without a clear request for the details needed to reproduce them. This adds a GitHub Actions triage bot that applies the existing type, area, and platform labels and asks for missing bug details in an attributed comment. When the author supplies those details, the bot updates its request and removes the triage status label it added.
Runs for each issue or PR are serialized. The bot checks for author edits and replies after classification so it does not post requests based on stale content. It preserves existing type labels and human triage status labels, and model disagreement cannot mark a labeled bug report complete.
The privileged workflow executes trusted base-branch code and never checks out pull request code. It skips Dependabot pull requests because the repository already labels those through Dependabot configuration. A separate read-only workflow runs the integration tests without calling external APIs.
The bot uses
gpt-4.1-mini. Add anOPENAI_API_KEYrepository secret to activate it after merging. Without that secret, the workflow skips triage with a warning.
