What happened

I scanned a roll and a half using the scan tab, each roll cut into six frame strips. The process was preview (using auto frame detection) and then scan using ICE and 4000dpi to Tiff.

NegPy using the Nikon CoolScan (nkscan) backend detected the scanner (connected to my M1 Macbook Pro via USB B type to USB A type and then USB A to USB C cables) and was able to control it fine.

On the fifth strip of the second roll (I think this is about 50frames) the scanner would get stuck at "metering 16%" and then would give up showing the error message 'timed out after 5s'. The scanner would be unresponsive and would not eject the film, preview or scan at first and I power cycled the scanner and also tried restarting NegPy and my computer but the error did not go away until I "Reset Everything" in the Manage Database window after which I could scan again.

While the error was occuring sometimes there was an error message in the preview window about the scanner being out of sync (sorry I did not record this error message this time but will if it happens again).
